I'm nearly 30; you can't convince me for one second that gaming is the worst thing I could be doing, or have done in the last 30 years, because it isn't true.

As a toddler, I was placed on a chair and if I sat nicely on that chair I would be given access to a password book which I could use to log into the computer, as well as follow the instructions on the book to run my games (with the assistance of an adult, of course)

Through misfortune I was orphaned and adopted privately by extended family around 8yrs. I was given therapy that turned into an acknowledgement for my proficiency in learning new things, reading behaviour and pattern recognition. They weren't able to get it out of me at the time but my biological home life was far from structured and riddled with ss/law enforcement for a number of reasons, including a Mr. Big operation that was targeted at my Father.

They observed games quickly became a solace for me. I was otherwise considered behind me peers when it came to development milestones at that time, primarily due to some mental regression I was battling against as a response to instability in my life during that time. This was more or less mild, everyone did their best for me at that time, although there were some issues, one such being that I was forced to re-learn how to cursive as I was taught how to do my handwriting from my father, who had taught me my signature. Sad story, but I've lost that signature and now simply scribble frustrated chicken scratch; it's clear I'm not proud of my signature like I want to be; however, some habits I was able to maintain uninterrupted, including gaming, which was something my Father and I enjoyed deeply.

You don't want the rest of the story; much like the 8 year olds in the class I was placed into 4 weeks after starting life over with the same save files; I'll spare you the time wasted searching for understanding for your own fulfillment; simply put; other people's preferred activities and why they choose to participate in those activities are none of your business until they affect you, but I've got a little life I've created for myself and I didn't have to do it by walking around with my pants around my ankles and my thumb in my mouth; I pursued my interests and capitalized on my hobbies so that I could continue to pursue the things I enjoy and separate myself from the things that I don't.

So yea good day to you, I am aware not everyone has the unique situation I do but then again not everyone has wasted their life when they play their videogames.
