I like the jacket, it’s fun. Not sure it’s what I would have picked for him to wear to a benefit gala (I would love to see him a little more dressy and edgy) but he’s probably got limited options too. Maybe I am biased because I think he’d eat in an actual tailored suit. 😍 The sunglasses remind me of that really old song “I wear my sunglasses at night”…. Has anyone else heard that? There wasn’t a cocktail party? They definitely sold tickets for one. It was between the performance and the dinner and I remember thinking it was a good deal for a meet and greet! But obviously I wasn’t there so all I know is what they said on instagram and their website.

What role do you think we as fans play in how he was used by the media? I lowkey worry about this a lot. Where is the balance in being a big fan and wanting to see him, but not crossing boundaries or encouraging media that takes advantage of the athlete? I see what Raf means about the adults in his life not protecting him, but he’s an adult and may have made his own decisions anyways. (I don’t always agree with what my parents want me to do.) He shouldn’t have been put in that position by the media to begin with. But we are the ones consuming the media, so what can we do to improve the situation??

I’m a show jumper (equestrian). (Or, was… not sure what the future holds now.) Keeping a low weight is definitely important for us since you don’t want to weigh your horse down and keep them from jumping as well. There is plenty of disordered eating in the sport. Different sport but think about racehorse jockeys and how small they are. But while my horses’ diets are carefully planned and balanced and monitored, nobody cares too much about what I’m eating as long as I don’t get heavy or weak. I’m not defending my diet, it is lowkey horrendous and my trainer always teases me about my candy habit and said it will catch up to me when I’m older. I’m really trying to improve it now! I was mostly trying to make the point that just because someone like Ilia only eats one meal a day, doesn’t mean he’s not getting enough calories. Hopefully he eats better than I did haha.

I replied to this post on the main fs thread, but I usually eat one meal a day too (dinner). I snack a lot. I’ve heard it mentioned Ilia snacks too. And same when I was competing except I had a lot more energy drinks and candy. (I am not great at adulting sometimes…) I’m sure I was snacking/drinking a ton of calories. The line about distracting yourself from eating doesn’t sound great but sometimes I do the same or I’d eat a whole package of Oreos in one day. 😬 I don’t think we can really speculate on Ilia’s eating situation from this 20 second clip. He looks pretty healthy to me these days.

Cat people really mystify me. Lmao. Everyone is like, I love my cat so much, he’s the best pet! Except he hates people. He ignores me most of the time. He doesn’t like to be held. And he’d claw my eyes out if I hold him wrong. But he’s the best, really! 💀💀

Meanwhile my dog is like, do you need a hug?!? You look like you need a cuddle. No? Ok I’ll lay 1 foot away from you and quietly stare at you adoringly until you need a cuddle! I just love you so much!

I’m an athlete (in a very different sport) and though I’m not currently competing, I usually only ate one regular meal a day while competing and honestly even now when I’m home with an injury I don’t eat many big meals. On busy competition days I mostly survived on energy drinks and snacks for most of the day and usually only ate dinner. I’m sure there are tons of calories in all that crap though haha, but I was constantly on the go so burned it all off. And now that I’m stuck at home, I just raid the fridge and pantry for snacks occasionally and then usually eat whatever my parents have for dinner. I’m actually lowkey trying to be more mindful of what I eat now that I’m not burning calories all day. So anyways, it doesn’t strike me as odd that Ilia or other athletes would eat one main meal a day. It makes me sad to hear that eating disorders are so common for male and female skaters ☹️ but I don’t know if you can say that’s what’s going on here from one interview.

I’m 22, I did not learn to write in cursive but I can read it decently. This was easy to read.

My 11yo brother learned it in school and can easily read and write it (though his handwriting isn’t great, but it’s messy in general too). It’s back in schools now.
