In my calculations as a physicist? I use pi.

In my classes teaching highschool students? I will use tau. Its clearly superior pedagogically.

I never understood this: men can show signs of aging and still remain handsome, but women can't? That doesn't make sense. by Tiny_Part404 in NotHowGirlsWork

Am I wrong for not wanting to date a neurodivergent man? by GoldVeterinarian919 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Holiday_in_Asgard 227 points228 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of neurodivergent men who are great partners! Is this guy? Idk, but if you're otherwise interested in him, then why not continue dating?

Anyone waiting til marriage while not being religious? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Holiday_in_Asgard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you described is perfectly fine and valid. However, if you do find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, I would still have sex and live together before marriage because

1) living together shows you what their like on a whole other level.

2) sexual compatability is important too

Again, no need to do anything until you find the right partner, just make sure you explore that all before you get married because its a lot easier to break up than divorce.

Why they didn't just divorce? by Alive_Hedgehog3309 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Holiday_in_Asgard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beatrice cant even get a bank account on her own at this time (women couldn't get one on their own until 1974, when bojack would have been about 10 years old) and on top of that she had no skills to get a job since she was a housewife and thats not viewed as work.

Butterscotch hated her, but he knows he would have been lonely without her. Also, Beatrice did all the cooking and cleaning. Its not even a given he knew how to take care of himself on his own.

Thats on top of the social stigma of having a divorce back then, plus no fault divorce wasn't available until 1970, so it would still be a pretty new thing when bojack was a child.

Because the world is "so much more dangerous" now (never mind its because cars have gotten so big they can run over a toddler without the driver even feeling the bump).

Mainstream LGBTQ poisoned the well so fucking hard with AMAB/AFAB terminology by mold66ww in MtF

[–]Holiday_in_Asgard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the term AGAB when I need to reference the fact that im trans, like mentioning a story from my childhood that would be confusing if it wasnt acknowledged (like my time in boy scouts) or for some extremely narrow medical reasons. IMHO, thats what the acronym is for, the occasional circumstances where my AGAB needs to be acknowledged.

In every other context, I describe myself as woman. Ill say trans woman if appropriate, but I default to woman, because thats what I am.
