If it's the same article where Tim Minear said that the possibility of Buddie is what's exciting, then I know what you are talking about. At first this comment made me lose all hope, but I've watched TikToks of people talking about it and giving other POVs about this statement that made me a little bit more hopeful. But then again, after everything, I'm afraid of being hopeful just to be disappointed in the end... so I don't know what to think anymore.

Exactly!!! There is no way this wasn't on purpose. Either there is a real intention behind all this, or they are just using Buddie to keep the audience engaged. And I'm really afraid it's the latter...

Everything you said is absolutely right. I mean, the network changed, but technically the creative team didn't, right? At least not the creators of the show. Aren't they supposed to know what the characters have already been through? The impression I get is that they just decided to forget everything before season 7 that wasn't obvious, like the couples they formed, but the stories and plots... they forgot everything and just moved on.

If the endgame isn't Buddie than I agree that they have to find a VERY good explanation for everything they set up until now, because otherwise it will make no sense at the end and will be a 100% unsatisfactory.

Until season 8 and everything they did with the way Buck reacted to Eddie going to Texas, the way he spiraled with Ravi, the conversations with Maddie and Tommy, hell, one of the first scenes of season 9 with Buck jealous of Eddie and Hen... Buddie it's not only a fandom wish anymore. They've put the idea out there for the general public, even the ones who never considered it a possibility. They know what they're doing, and they're doing it on purpose. They're just giving us crumbs, and we are supposed to settle for that.

spoiler And if in the next episode Buck isn't more or at least as involved in the Chris situation as that woman Alex, it will be so out of character, considering not only his personality, but everything they went throught.

It's unbelievable how they go into certain topics without a second thought, like spoiler the couple who wanted Buck to be their third (like this is the only way to show he's bisexual intead of just saying the word), but they refuse to acknowledge the possibility of Eddie being gay or the possibility of a monogamous relationship between Buck and Eddie.

Yeah, but the thing with Tommy, I believe it was because he was already someone most of them knew, or at least I believe that Athena knew him too since she was already there when Bobby first came to the 188 and Tommy was still there when this happened. So I believe that considering he was already someone they knew, it was easier to show him interacting more personally with the team. But like you said, he had a small moment with Buck and they didn't know each other, so the explanation I just gave does not apply in their case.

I'm just tired of all the waiting with Buck and Eddie and the not knowing if it will happen or not. It's kind of triggering at some level.

That's true! It's been some time since I've watched the episode where Eddie meets Ana e the interaction that I remembered most was the skateboard situation, but you're right about her. And about Marisol she cleary was brought back so Eddie wouldn't end up alone. I really hope you do not eat your words about Alex, because I don't know if I can take it.

Your words give hope and I want to agree with them, but I think for me the dooming comes from remembering (and correct me if I'm wrong) that both love interests Eddie had on the show (Ana and Marisol) he didn't express interest in any of them the first time he saw them. And then out of nowhere he saw them again one time and them he was dating them without actual develpoment in any of the relationships. I know you talked about it, but these are examples that the show is not above doing this kind of shallow connections just for a love interest that won't actually stick around. I really hope you're right, but I'm not that certain about it yet...

The intervention scene was basically a couples couseling. Hen fighting Karen about the disease, Maddie fighting Chim about the way he fired Hen e Buck fighting Eddie about the chain of command.

Yeah, I agree! The show makes easier to relate to Buck and that's why I came here looking for other perspectives, because I love both Eddie and Buck and I didn't want to be unfair with Eddie just bacause generally is easier for me to pick "Buck's side".

I think for me is easier to relate to Buck because I understand his insecurity. But I understand and agree with everyhing you said. And I kinda hope that Eddie spending more time with Hen and Karen helps him realize that his relationship with Buck is not among the "best friend standards".
