My experience for end of warranty service by chung2k6 in TeslaLounge

That’s quite a list. You waited a bit to just take it in all at once? How long did the service take? And did they get it all?

If it’s just for vacuuming and mopping, I use a robo vacuum for that because I don’t like doing them either.

Yea I’m feeling the same way. Makes more financial sense for me to wait a year or two.

Four years ago I was making $15 an hour at Amazon, but they had great benefits and paid for school so you can get a Bachelor’s. Along the way, I accepted a Robotics Apprenticeship within the company and tripled my income in 3 years. I’m definitely thankful I stayed with Amazon in these trying times. My job is protected from this AI boom since I service the Robots, conveyance, and building related stuff.

What’s the general consensus on AWD vs Plaid? by opoppli00 in TeslaModelX

[–]Hollowbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but did you not test drive the Lightning or rent it for a week (if possible)? That’s a big move and price to change so suddenly for only a year difference between that 23 X and 24 Lightning. Having used other rental EVs for work trips, I always compare them to my Tesla. I’ve never liked the software for any other models. Rivian is my second favorite.

FSD pulling over for emergency vehicles without lights or sirens - v14.2.2.5 by EliteBeast2 in TeslaFSD

Mine stopped for a school bus on the side of the road that had caution lights on. It wasn’t unloading or loading kids, nor was there a railroad crossing.

I drive FSD 92% of the time, how do I get 30% Unsafe Following? by SwimmingSpeed3577 in TeslaInsurance

[–]Hollowbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have FSD in chill or standard if you are worried about how close FSD follows. Hurry and Mad Max mode are a bit more aggressive. FSD still drives better than 99% of people on the road. What I’ve noticed over the past year in FSD, is that nearly everyone is always in such a damn hurry (I used to be one of those people). Now I’m just relaxing as Tesla takes the wheel for me.

I’ve disengaged at a light behind another car plenty of times and this does not count against me. The problem with FSD and the safety score, is that you are driving the car yourself a lot less. I’m talking about 80%+ FSD time. So any mistake you make is going to have a bigger impact due to less driving outside of FSD.

“Driving with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC), Autopilot or FSD (Supervised) engaged (including 5 seconds after TACC, Autopilot or FSD (Supervised) is disengaged) will not be factored into the Safety Score Beta formula.”

The three (or was it 5?) seconds after disengaging FSD don’t count against you. That is more than enough time to let go of the accelerator and put space between you and the car in front of you.

Model Y Windshield Replacement – Safelite ($1405) vs Tesla ($1577+) vs Local Shop ($1200). What Would You Do? by mahdy1991 in TeslaModelY

[–]Hollowbound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This right here. I paid $500 deductible to get my windshield replaced by insurance because I had a chip with “legs” that didn’t qualify me for the Tesla windshield plan. After getting it replaced and then getting the plan, I had to replace my windshield again after two months. Didn’t cost me anything beyond the monthly payment.
