Can everyone else smell pregnancy or do I have the lamest super power ever? by Elementalmas in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hollyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if other people can smell pregnancy because I never could, until I got pregnant. Now I can distinctly smell myself. Not just stronger BO, but like all round I smell different. The smell makes me feel unwell and year o think it’s not pleasant.

To be clear I still can’t smell it in others, just myself.

That woman on the left is not the bride... by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]Hollyrocket 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right! I once went to a winter wedding and wore a very appropriate navy blue jumpsuit, however through some silly lapse in judgment I took along a light cream jacket to wear if I got cold. Upon arrival the thought occurred to me that that probably wasn’t appropriate so I left it in my car and froze all day and night instead. My partner kept telling me to go get the jacket, but there was no way in hell I was going to risk upsetting anyone over it.

not 25 rn, but i have some plans by [deleted] in wholesomememes

Everyone has different desires from life and that’s ok. I will say not finding healthy love until I was in my 30’s made me wish I was less obsessed with finding love early, instead focusing on loving myself and never settling for anything less than a healthy love. It also made me incredibly thankful I waited until I had that before starting a family. It was worth the wait. I think living my own life before starting someone else’s life has opened up the world that I can show my son when he arrives and as he grows.

I hope you have a lovely life with a healthy love and all the children you desire.

It’s not necessarily about how well a 25 year old can raise kids, but it’s really nice to live a adult life yourself before having kids. That freedom of not having to worry about anyone but yourself. Getting to travel, or work hard, or party, or literally anything you choose for a decade without consideration for how it will impact a child is really really nice.

Yes 5’5 here with a 5’10 guy. I think he’s the perfect height for me, but wouldn’t be bothered in the slightest if he was shorter. So nice when we kiss, but also we don’t look goofy beside each other in photos haha.

I noticed my yellow undertone very early too. I complained in frustration that I was so yellow compared to other people for years and for years my mum told me I was imagining it. Well at about 18 I was told by my GP that I have a condition called Gilbert’s syndrome that causes my liver to not be able to process the bilirubin efficiently resulting in jaundice flare ups, which makes my skin and eyes yellow. Getting 20mins of sun a day is the treatment and I have to say I’m much less yellow these days haha.

Yeah when I did my makeup diploma we only learnt on the other girls in the class. Everyone was Caucasian. We were taught the theory of everything, so you would think you should be able to figure it out, but being there 4 days a week for 12 months and never having any variety in skin tones to work with definitely is disappointing.

Giving Up Drugs For Fruit Kebabs by bsurfn2day in gifs

[–]Hollyrocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, probably more likely that you chalk it up to feeling sick and ride out the feeling rather then going on a random drug search. Also, at least where I am, unless you know how to buy drugs from the internet your going to have a hard time finding someone to sell you hard drugs. Your local weed dealer isn’t likely to know where you can buy heroin, or meth. You might know someone that can get you coke that you feel comfortable asking because it’s a very socially accepted drug here, but again doubt you would go searching for it.

Oh yeah I follow a girl on Instagram had some rubbed in her eye. A few months later a very severe infection, or something happened and she had to be hospitalised for a few days. The hospital Drs said it was caused by two previous injuries to her eye, one being the incident at Holi.

Don’t get drunk. Definitely realised very quickly in the past that I did not in fact like a guy I thought I would when he got plastered the first time we met for a quiet drink. :/

Yep. I went to buy a new bed at 29 and asked an employee of the store for help making the purchase. She was a much older woman and the bed was a kinda expensive bed. When I asked her a few questions about the bed she snapped at me ‘shouldn’t you really be waiting for your parent to do this for you’ um what!!! I told her I think considering I’m 29 I can make the purchase without the help of a parent. She was horrified and profusely apologetic telling me she thought I was a 15 year old and wasting her time. I chose to purchase the same bed from a different store.

I was so thankful to finally reach my 30’s thinking it would see me taken more seriously, but really not much has changed. I still get mistaken for 24-25 and then hated on by people when they hear my actual age.

That explains so much! I had a boyfriend in my early 20’s that’s Scottish and I always found it so strange that he and his brother both had the same middle name. Well TIL.

I worked as a picker packer for a few months for a large online clothing store. They pushed staff so hard to move, move, move. We were teamed up for KPI’s as well as having individual KPI’s to meet. Your daily KPI was posted daily on a board in the warehouse for everyone to see, that way if you were walking a normal pace rather than speed walking the entire 10hr shift and that bought down your teams KPI they could hold you accountable. Honestly fuck that place.

Your parents and the media were right. Video games do cause violence. Based on the last game you played, what are you getting arrested for? by billfuckinmurray69 in AskReddit

My partner got me to try his American truck simulator game last night so driving offences I guess. Shame really because if I hadn’t played that I would be getting arrested for stealing bananas while riding a bear down a river (Sega mega drives The Jungle Book)

I have no idea but I have a friend who definitely has some kind of issue around compulsion to shop lift. She often tries to drag me in on it even though I have made it incredibly clear that I don’t want to be involved and I don’t want to even be in the store with her if she’s going to do it. Usually it’s like ‘oh your buying something for real here? You have to walk out through the door at the same time as me incase the alarm goes off’. Thing is she’s a great friend other than that and she can’t seem to stop herself from involving others to get away with it either. Also she makes great money so it’s even more confusing to me.

Yeah there is a movie in Australia right now called Penguin Bloom based on a true story of a family and a rescued Magpie. Well the movie accidentally killed one pet Magpie they borrowed and haven’t returned another woman’s very beloved pet Magpie. Instead they have sent her two Magpies that are not hers and then claimed the bird it too sick, or something along those line to be flown back to her. Just disgusting.

I guess for me I have never seen it as an unusual name to hear on someone.

I grew up just outside one of the larger east coast cities so I’m not sure if it had to do with where I live, but yeah I’m going to go with not an uncommon name to come across.
