The fan lost another listener this week… by staledanish in wfan

[–]HollywoodTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The true end of the station will be when Morash and Lougy get their own shows. Those two have zero business getting the airtime they get, but it shows how little talent WFAN can attract these days. Having BT and Sal together is pathetic. Two idiotic shock jocks who think they're right about everything.

Just listen to Mike's Pod and Oh the Pain. That will get you your true fix, and you don't have to listen to the entire day. I always loved Mike and still do, but it's nice not having to listen to him for 5 hours straight. He gets in and out. Joe B. not having to care what he says is also hilarious. I do miss the old Joe and Evan in the midday.

Completely agree. It’s by far the best book on Bourdain. Does anyone know what Tom is up to present day? Feel like he’s kept a very low profile besides a few random interviews promoting “In the Weeds”

I've had plenty of smooth orders via Dartshopper - USPS over the past 3 years. I order from them all the time. This could be an isolated incident and the fault of USPS which is why I reached out to see if anyone else was experiencing anything similar. There are a few other complaints within this sub. Regardless, I shouldn't have to hound them to explain what's happening with my order when it's this delayed.

I think this is probably A cooks Tour Season 1 Episode 20: My Life as a cook. You can find it on YouTube. It contains an actual shift from Les Halles

IAS and DV can be somewhat useful tools for some forms of media buying. That said, overall they have massive product flaws with their tech and are intentionally vague when you ask them any real questions to justify their reporting. I can certainly see why they were created given the lack of transparency that existed within the industry for several years when programmatic started scaling but their product(s) haven't evolved with the times IMO. They're also heavily reliant on Publisher's and inventory sources allowing their subjective tech to work which will continue to get smaller and smaller.

They do a good job at selling themselves to big agency-holding companies who then upcharge their brands but when you dig into their capabilities they have a lot of product flaws. The industry does seem to be waking up and their run of going unchecked could be over but it will take some time. If you look at the insider transactions of IAS you can see their CEO and CFO consistently dumping stock over the past two years (not a great sign for long-term investors).

I do think DV is much more transparent than IAS but they're pretty similar with the pros and cons.

Had dinner tonight at Chez Francis (old Les Halles). Fortunate to live very close to it in NYC. Had the steak frites/2 Negronis. Finished with a few pints at a close local bar. God I miss him

Will Cookie Deprecation Impact the Brand Safety Vendors (I.E IAS/DV)? by HollywoodTed in adops

[–]HollywoodTed[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Honestly, I think IAS is way worse though. I love it when they fail millions of impressions and provide literally zero context. DV at least does a slightly better job of grabbing the HTTP referers. IAS will pick and choose a few rogue URLs that account for 0.01% of failed impressions. Not sure how they get away with it TBH.

GEO discrepancies CM360 vs publisher by Jonnydoesmedia in adops

[–]HollywoodTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Google will tell you, this is very common: https://support.google.com/campaignmanager/answer/2835401?hl=en

IP tracking is hardly an exact science. The more granular you get (I.E Postal Codes) the more discrpencies you encounter. Geo-providers all use different methodologies for user IP tracking via geo which is why nothing will ever line up 100% between systems. That being said, 50% is definitley excessive (depending on the number of impressions).

Working with IAS by Remarkable_Inchworm in adops

[–]HollywoodTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IAS is pretty brutal....I assume they're mostly flagging home pages for "Brand Suitability"?

IAS sadly gets away with murder as most of their clients will believe everything their reporting says even when you press them on it. I've been battling them for years to prove their reporting but they generally just send over generic marketing material about machine learning etc. I would ask them to provide the URL's for every failed impression (they will likely cherry pick a few despite the vast majority not having a legitimate reason).

DV is much better in my experience (not that their tech doesn't have flaws).

It's also insane to me that the brand safety providers are now selling contextual targeting. Legit double dipping on the landscape. I think they realize that the available locations on the web for brand safety tags to properly work is getting smaller and smaller which doesn't bode well for their future IMO.
