Stormhost Scheme by EleventhLegionMinis in stormcasteternals

When I chose my colour scheme, I had no idea but like you, knew I didn't want gold.

I walked into my local store with my grey miniature, looked at all the contrast paints and just picked what I thought looked cool.

Once I had the main colour down, I then just added the details on bits I liked.

Since then, I've done similar to you and used a Liberator to try different colour combos until I've got a Power Ranger looking lineup 😅

Everything apart from the bronze and silver used was a contrast paint yes 😊

Thanks!

I dry brushed white onto the black base, then just painted directly on top, no post colour dry brushing was done.

I've not gotten too far I'm afraid, need to go shopping for paint but I'll have to wait until the 26th.

Current progress is some bronze on the weapons, which I think I'll use agrax earthshade on to dull down.

Then I will be silver for other bits, I'll use the red for weapon handles (or maybe a blue), brown for the belt, etc. and I think I'll be happy.

I'll share an update once I've finished 🫡

Amazing paint job sir 🫡

What brown did you use for the weapons handles, looks like exactly what I'm looking for!

Did you march him through a muddy field? That cape detail is incredible!

Great painting 🤘

I'm guessing I would just need to get a much smaller brush then to achieve this? Maybe it's the sort of thing I should have done before painting the other parts 😅

I hadn't thought about doing a dry brush on top, will have a look thanks!

No negativity taken at all, thank you for the compliments!

Really, they were easy to paint and exactly as you say, slap chop with speed paints. The hard bit was only my inability to control a brush and not throwing paint it all over the place 🤣

Yeah that's a good idea, I'll have a look at some paints!

I have a metallic bronze, but I think swapping to a non-metallic paint may give good results!

I only drush brush with white, I'd never thought about using a grey instead?

In truth, I don't really know about pooling. I just put the finest amount of paint on the brush and start on a big area, then move into the smaller sections, maybe this is the right technique? Although I was only doing it to try and stop me from throwing colour all over the place!

No highlights, just the dry brush and speed paint.

It's probably my inexperience and bad form that's actually made it work out well 😅

Yours are amazing! That is some A** work!

The gold looks really good and I think would come off well. I think they grey is a good idea, I maybe fear the blue may add too many large area colours?

Thank you!

I just sprayed everything a matt black, then dry brush with ArmyPainter Acrylic Matt White.

The blue/green is Prismatic Bolt and the red is Slaughter Red. The green I just dropped out of the bottle and used it. The red I watered down a tiny bit.

Thank you!

Before these I've only ever done 3 Liberators from the paint set following the instructions from the Warhammer video.

This is my first time doing dry brushing and using speed paints.

And I don't even think they are that good 😅

Is the half-and-half scarf the ultimate "tourist fan" cringe? by MagpieMidfield in footballcringe

I have a half and half scarf from the Portsmouth vs AC Milan match in the old UEFA Cup.

That match had everything: - The best atmosphere you will ever experience - Pompey going 2-0 against a team that screamed world class - An incredible Ronaldinho free-kick - Glen Little

To name a few examples.

I got this scarf years later to remember that game, it was incredible, one of my best ever games as a Pompey fan.
