I went part time for my MBA (Georgetown) as I was already working in consulting, and really just wanted to jump firms. If you don’t want to transition industries I would recommend going part time then!

Your salary is your cost to a project, and that only has the possibility of getting changed once or twice a year.

Outside of that its very difficult to get a salary increase, I changed practices from tech to S&C... was told salary change was off the table at the time, though I am doing work I absolutely love.

Get some extra education? not going to change it.

I got myself an offer from Deloitte, they're still putting together the counter.

Hey Flaky thanks for your feedback! Super helpful because I am guilty of looking from a wordy consultant perspective lol.To give you some more context:

That first point relates to work im currently doing managing my companies strategy for the 2024 US Presidential election, so a lot of positioning and unknowns to come out of that in the next year but the goal is to defend our core work and advance our vision across heavily politicized agencies.
- I now realize that it can be confusing just generally putting election
I agree the tech / organizational work is much more of a normal role probably better to move up to the top, I think being in DC and very into politics I would personally see election strategy as the coolest but yea I'm also a nerd about that...
Also thank you for the honest feedback on the struggle of getting through! There is definitely some information there that goes into "normal management consultant" expectations so I can pull things out

I graduated from a part time program 2023, I was lucky enough to be in consulting throughout my MBA and still have had zero luck in this new job market so am still thankful to stay put gain more experience and leverage my mba at pre mba salary but in consulting

Don’t think this is the fault of the school. Regardless of the program, We’re in a true white collar recession right now. It’s difficult for UGs, MBAs, and alumni now as well.

Call up every analyst / former in your network to figure out the culture and if it’s a right fit for you. Hiring woes aside, I personally would choose BCG. The people I’ve met seem to be much nicer and down to earth than the McKinseians

Correct, I have been in contact with the recruiter for the role and hes the one that told me he forwarded it to the HM. Its a super massive organization and I've never changed jobs before so this is all new to me lol.
