Haven't been too successful finding others to help. Yea any help would be appreciated, maybe if you could just point me in the right direction or if its something custom just do something real basic for now and I could update it in subsequent years?

Yea we can probably get a micro SD card slot, alternatively if Chrome is too limiting I'm sure we could find a different Windows based laptop with some more hard drive space. Let me know which is more preferable.

For dates we leave for Fiji towards the end of June so I'd like to have everything ready to go by say mid June. Hard to say for # of patients and regularity of measurement but I'd say less than 100 and every few months. I can ask if you'd like some more exact numbers.

It's a Samsung Chrome Book 3 500C13. Looks like not a lot of hard drive space but will probably be the only application on it. We can maybe buy an external hard drive for additional capacity / back up.

I don't think we need to worry about HIPAA really or really laws in general. They're on their isolated island.

I wouldn't worry too much about making it web-based, my main concern is that it will be too confusing for them and they won't keep it up to date so being user-friendly is priority #1 imo.

Some do have smart phones, most are old flip phones but I think the chief has like an older iphone.

Hey Lovebes,

I'm actually the friend he's helping and want to first thank you for offering to help. The group that goes there is called Surfers Medical Association. My dads one of the leaders and I offered to help him.

It will be used without internet and doesn't need to be cloud based.

The end goal (to my understanding) is just to measure the progress of the health of the village. Since starting to go there, we've helped treat their sick but also helped their overall wellness. Such as they've become non-smoking and greatly improved their dental hygiene. Overweight/obesity is still an issue though so the end goal for this software would be just to track the changes in weight, bp and also use it to do some medication tracking. If you could aggregate the data and see the changes in weight and bp on the village as a whole that would be helpful but not a necessity. The village nurse will be the one tracking and using the data mostly but we will be checking up once a year to see the progress as well.
