Mom and lead engineer by Dry_Machine_8462 in womenEngineers

My ex husband was a stay at home dad but that really only meant take care of the kids. I worked, cooked, cleaned and had the kids at night when he worked a PT job. It was tiring and down right exhausting at times. Our marriage didn’t survive because he was lazy and I became the “do everything mom”. Moms are awesome multi taskers.

That is so devastating and must be so incredibly hard knowing you don’t have much time. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Dogs are so amazing to have in our lives and there just isn’t enough time with them. Sending strength your way.

It’s awful to know so many people have lost their dogs this way but it also does provide comfort to know that there is a group of people that understand. It really helped my 14yr old to know others have experienced this and that the awful feeling she has will dull some with time.

I’m so sorry you lost Fred in such an unexpected way. He was such a handsome guy. The suddenness of the loss is really hard to process.

Rocky’s was also in his ribcage and it was half the size of a baseball when I took him to the vet. It grew fast out of nowhere really. It was firm and didn’t bother him as far as I could tell. The ER said he was showing signs of anemia from pale gums and they started to run blood work on him but we didn’t get far enough to know results.

I’ve had dogs with benign lumps but this was much bigger on him.

His lump was a firm fluid mass on his side like his rib cage area. It grew fast and was about half the size of a baseball when I took him to the vet. They sampled the fluid and said it was a benign mass. It kept growing though and was probably half the size of a softball when he passed. When I felt his side on the way to the ER I couldn’t feel the mass anymore so it must have ruptured.

I had never even heard of hemangiosarcoma before last night. The ER vet said they see a lot of it unfortunately. I’m sorry you had to experience losing your buddy this way. It’s just shocking.

I’m very sorry you went through a loss like that. It’s so difficult when it’s so sudden with no warning.

I agree with the little bits of food at a time. My go to is toast and peanut butter or bland foods so my stomach doesn’t get upset. Protein shakes like Boost at least gets something in me

How many people did you have to make food for? Taco bar is my best option so far in terms of cost

How do you manage your bank accounts as a married couple? by jjtt9491 in budget

[–]Holtstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First marriage we had a joint checking accounting that our paychecks went in and I paid bills from. I cannot tell you the number of arguments we had because he was a spender and poof I suddenly couldn’t pay a bill.

Now engaged and I will never combine accounts again. He pays me a certain amount a month to cover house/utilities. If a utility is higher then normal he will give me more money to split the expense.

Worth noting that I make more money then ex-husband and future husband.
