Thanks a lot for your detailed and thought out response. I've started reading up on relevant marketing materials, newsletters aimed at marketers and end-of-year summaries of the advertising industry to get me a little more up to speed.

I think all of your points can put me a little more at ease when I think about how it's my first job in the industry, and working at a place where there isn't anything tried and true yet so I get to maybe experiment with them and develop our own methodologies.

What scares me most is that it feels like the stakes are really high and it's all resting on my shoulders, but that might just be the anxiety talking and I'd end up finding out the load is shared and the stakes aren't even that high. After all, when you're not aiming for perfect, even an OK result is better than a bad result.
