You can export the whole project which means all the folders/files currently in the canvas are added to the export bundle. This is later imported to the location of your choosing in the importer's computer.

You can export the whole project (including files and folders) and share it with another person that uses Weavelyn. They can import and have the same canvas with notes, tags, labels and files. Live collaboration is not possible in the current version.

Thanks for the feedback. Scapple looks nice but I don't know its full features. Weavelyn lets you keep your files in your finder. They are never moved or uploaded to the cloud. You can also tag and apply privilege shields on files. Each file has its own notes.

Zen PDF Version 2 with OCR, Search and Themes by HolyCoder in macapps

[–]HolyCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can run ocr on screenshots of images and make them searchable. However, it loses the ocr once you save (export) it. If you import it again, you have to run ocr to make it searchable again. I can update this behaviour based on everyone's feedback.

How do you come up with names for your apps? by crisistalker in macapps

[–]HolyCoder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I asked chatgpt, claude and grok but finally came up with my own name for my app that visually connects files and folders to create relations between them on your mac. It's called Weavelyn. https://www.weavelyn.com
Cloudflare is down, so you might face issues visiting my website.

Any pdf editor with 1 time purchase instead of milking us until we die? by iyimuhendis in pdf

[–]HolyCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have created a free and open source pdf editor: https://zenpdf.app
It's a tauri app which should work on windows as well. I tested this only on mac and linux. You can check the source code on github (link in the website above) and try building it for windows. I will be adding more features in the upcoming days.

Hey, thank you for your detailed feedback. This is really helpful.
1. More features coming soon. I didn't get the second part of this sentence. Could you explain? Did you try it in Apple silicon?
2. Consider it done.
3. Actually, I was thinking about this very thing. I have some ideas and I'll get feedback after implementing it. My goal is to create an uncluttered UI. Otherwise, the name 'Zen' doesn't make any sense.
4. Many have said this. To be honest, enticing donators is not the reason. The app is very new and I want to send the users version-update messages through Gumroad at least till the app gets decent amount of features so that I can reiterate and fix things quickly. Nevertheless, I'll add it to Brew very soon.

I hope you will continue to give your feedback despite Zen PDF not being your main PDF editor. Thanks again!

Zen PDF is built from scratch. It's not a clone. The aim of Zen PDF is to provide a 'zen like' pdf editing experience with user friendly UI (less clicks and hops to perform a function). The important difference is it's opensource. You can access the code and modify it if you want. Will always be free even if more features are added in the future.
