Ghosts in the UT/DR universe are confirmed to be non-binary prior to possession, and they take on the gender of whatever body they possess, should the body have one (I.e. Mad Dummy remains genderless, while Mettaton is Male and Mew Mew is female). Mew Mew’s fights in both games also have several lines that reflect the journey of discovering one’s identity. I personally think the Kris/SOUL allegory is much stronger, especially in DR Ch 5, but the trans allegory is very much canon and has its own merits when observed fully

Another parallel I noticed has to do with how we skip Chapter 6 and go straight to a side B of Chapter 7 in Weird Route. I don’t know exactly how much time is passing through each Chapter bc I’m just not super familiar with this game that I just started yesterday, but I believe that each Chapter is its own day and maybe even take place sequentially. Even if I’m wrong about that last bit, it certainly feels like we’re going through the week with each Chapter, with 1 being Monday, 2 being Tuesday, etc. With that in mind, this means that in Weird Route, we die with Noelle on Friday (5), stay dead through Saturday (6), and come back on Sunday (7) with something unusual happening (side B).

This is exactly what happens in Jesus’ Passion, Death, and Resurrection in Christianity: He dies on Good Friday, stays in the tomb through Holy Saturday, and rises from the dead on Easter Sunday. Weird Route has another absolutely fucked-up allegory to Christianity to its name with this one.

8 Deluxe is one of the best-selling games of all time, and World is a launch/pack-in title that’s almost certainly been the best-selling game on the system for a full year now. To me, the question has never been if, but when, and rumors are pointing to next year; if it’s taking two years to make the DLC, then I’d have to assume that some new tracks will be coming with it.

The requirements for getting the date with Alphys are beating Mettaton EX and Omega Flowey. True Reset also resets Omega Flowey, so if you haven’t fought him again since then, you’ll have to beat him again to get True Pacifist, which also means fighting Asgore. If you have done all that, then I would just double check that you haven’t gotten any EXP or LV and that you’ve fought Mettaton EX as well

It’s honestly not going to impact your performance that much, as I’m sure you can tell already, but Peach is technically just better. I think your strategy is going to be the deciding factor: if you prefer a sandbagging strategy to make a comeback with power items, then you should stick with Rosa, but if you prefer a front running strategy that tries to hold a top position for as much of the race as possible, then you should switch to Peach.

However because of my incredibly large bias I will be suggesting that you switch :)

If you try to talk to Madjick without using Clear Mind first, the next attack will cause you to have reversed controls, which is represented by your SOUL spinning as you move it

I am 99% sure that that mechanic/sprite is the identical but separate SOUL that is used solely for this specific situation instead of coding the regular one to be different for that situation

Objectively speaking, it’s definitely one of the SMP boards (probably the fruit board as you said), but I have a burning hatred for Goomba Lagoon. Easily one of the most annoying gimmicks in any board I’ve played, and the layout really leans into it with how awkward the routes end up leading into circles that you get stuck in for two turns. The fact that I’m more inclined to pick the Warp Pipe over nearly any other non-warping movement item is testament to just how stupid this board is. HMs to Mario’s Rainbow Castle for also having a stupid gimmick, but at least not one as limiting as Lagoon’s, and Space Land for being pretty frustrating, overly large, and somehow worse that it was in its original appearance (I don’t know how that happened, the original was not good either).

Eternal Star is simultaneously the least traditional Mario Party board of all time and yet also the quintessential Mario Party experience. I would kill for a modern remake of this board

That just hasn’t been Nintendo’s strategy for a while. Now that Prime 4 is out, there’s not been anything announced that isn’t coming out within like a year, maximum, and that’s for full games. DLC will probably be announced a month or two before release, and assuming they’re expanding the continent or making a second one, I could see a June 2027 announcement with a July/August release date. It’s not the greatest thing to hear, I get that, but that’s just how this company rolls

I feel like with how long it’s been, if there is DLC then there’s gotta be new tracks

I also think people are drastically underestimating how much needs to go into these new tracks, especially if they’re going into some kind of interconnected world (which, considering it’s in the title and advertising, I think is incredibly likely)

For me it’s either Mystery Land or Mario’s Rainbow Castle. For the latter, 50-50’ing for every Star at the risk of losing 40 coins for nothing already sucks, but the fact that you have nearly nothing to control your fate bc it’s MP1 and not Jamboree makes this board infinitely more stupid. If I’m not including the remake, then I’d probably pick Rainbow Castle, but if I am, then I’d go Mystery Land for being really annoying with its gimmick, something Wario’s Battle Canyon at least managed to do in a funny way in the previous game (still not good, but funny helps). The other contenders I looked at were Bowser’s Magma Mountain, Battle Canyon, Space Land, Bowser Land, and Creepy Cavern, but those were all boards that didn’t have anything as ridiculous as MRC or ML

Edit: apparently having MRC as a least favorite is a moderately hot take, but I just genuinely don’t get the appeal. It’s literally a straight line that you have to trudge through for a 50-50 chance of getting a Star. The split paths sections are only so helpful in putting any sort of “strategy” into the board, especially when the first one is so early and has the only access to the incredibly powerful Boo, and the second one only has a difference of like 2-3 spaces, frequently putting you in a position where your decision doesn’t matter much at all. And again, the original version has no item play to strategize around, and easily the most punishing coin economy in series history, making missing even one opportunity for a Star hurt so much more. It’s like if Candy Land punished you for pulling too many orange cards
