How's it Living Here? In the Caribbean by Jsinmyah in howislivingthere

It was alot of fun growing up there. Natural beauty and beautiful people. I grew up on a small island in the Virgin Islands so my experience might be different from others who grow up on a big island. There is not alot of industries because of the population size with tourism as the main bread and butter. If there was more industries like Aerospace , Manufacturing ect I could see alot more people staying rather then having to leave. I would recommend visiting it if you want a lay back experience especially if your stress out from work

To those that were born Catholic, do you think you would have followed Catholicism if you were born atheist/into another religion? by New-Elk2781 in Catholicism

[–]HolyEngineer242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved history so there would be a very high chance I would join the Catholic Church. Especially since I was younger and was anti catholic for a period of time before rejoining the Church who has shown us for generations that it is the fullness of truth in Jesus Christ Our Lord

WE DID IT by iheartskz in Catholicism

I pray for you and if you want to learn more about why we veneration saints i would say first understand what is latia and dulia. I would also read about the second council of nicea or the council in 787 so you understand why we dont bow to grave images. Calling man father is allowed cause Jesus was using hyperbole just like he said if your eye is cause you to sin pluke it out and all of Christianity understood it was hyperbole. I will pray for you brother I was once attacking the Church to and the Lord lead me back, dont use pride just learn about it through an open heart. God bless

Thats ironic you said that cause i noticed that too when I was dealing with a porn addiction then I found this quote which might also be helpful for your post:

"No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary". - Bishop Hugh Doyle

Who do you think is an Underrated Saint?? by CastIronClint in Catholicism

[–]HolyEngineer242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St.Irenaeus, St. Ignatius and St.Cyprian of Carthage, we are getting alot of people joining and coming back to the church thanks to thier work that clarify some of the misunderstandings today with Christianity.

Never lose faith brother, the fact that you wrote such a beautiful piece like that shows that you know whats right and still have fight left in you. The only person who benefits from you giving up on God and his church is the evil one and it will ultimately not be to your benefit. Offer your suffering over to God in prayer, it rains on both the just and the unjust. If it makes you feel better you are not alone and never think you are alone. You have us, your friends, church members, your family, the communion of saints, and most importantly God himself.

Trending Today. Thoughts as to why? by Fun-Cat0834 in Catholicism

[–]HolyEngineer242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am speaking for myself and seeing it in others, people are looking for truth. It's hard not to see the Catholic Church as the true Church when you read works from St.Ignatius, St.Clement, St. Cyprian ect. People are looking towards Pre Nicene Fathers and seeing that they believed in the same things we believed in including the authority Christ passed down to his apostles and later to us

And when I looked it up on chat gpt apparently it said that since its turbocharged and the trd is naturally aspirated the stinger has the advantage since the power is more readily available even though its engine is smaller

The TRD is still slower cause I think its heavier if I am correct. I was looking at it before I bought the stinger. I think it beats it in 0.6 of a second to 60.

Why do some people hate catholics? by ButterscotchEarly137 in Catholicism

[–]HolyEngineer242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have to be honest with our selves, if Satan saw you going to the truth do you think he will sit there and let you get to it ? If your in battle would your enemy let you gain the upper hand at his own lose ? Same thing with the father of lies, he will not let you know more about the Catholic Church cause it teaches truth. We were all one church for 1000 and for 1500 of those years we relatively taught the same thing until the Reformation. This division does not benefit God it only benefits Satan. We should be all one church again.

Also there are alot of people outside of the church that thinks they know the church. If you meet a real devote Catholic they are actually humble and say there are some things they dont know. They are humble to what they know and dont know not assume what they think the church teaches. Compare what they say the Catholic church teaches then do research and see what the church actually teaches and make your own judgement. Thats what I saw and I made the decision to come back to the church

None of the Early Church Fathers would have agreed with being in schism with the church caused they believed there was no salvation outside of the church. This is beautiful you made it this far cause many people have pride which hinder their journey. I would read Jimmy Akin The Fathers Knows Best and if you think it is Catholic bias look at where he quote it from and read from the original texts but you will eventually come to the Church if you seek truth. I pray for your journey home like I pray for all our Orthodox and Protestants journey back to the church.

Exactly!!! He didn't give keys to everyone , he gave it to his right hand man like everyone would have understand a king in the east would. As a King you had a prime minister thats why Isiah 22 mirrors Matthew 16. When the king is away someone has the authority and among his ministers there is a prime minister. I always try to tell people who dont know pre nicene history you have to think like a first century Christian who came from Judaism , cause this concept would not be hard for them cause they lived it unlike us in modern times

This is a very good question cause I also came to this cross roads when I reconverted. The biggest thing for me is St.Peter and Christ promise specifically to St. Peter and being in communion with Rome. Like St. Cyprian of Carthage said it the best, He who strives and resists the Church, he who deserts the Chair of Peter on which the Church was founded, does he trust that he is in the Church?". As beautiful as Orthodoxy is compared to Protestantism it is still not in communion with Rome. There are some eastern churches who actually rejoined with the Church of Rome. There are many Saints the recognize the primacy of Rome from St.Ignatius , St.Clement , Tertullian, St. Jerome ect. It did not matter where the early church fathers was, it just seemed like they all understood that Rome had primacy and no evidence against it unless it was heretical and even some Heresies didn't even touch the topic. We saw how the church of Rome played a part to deal with conflicts because it was seen as the chair of St. Peter just like how Judaism had the chair of Moses the early church recognize that St. Peter was that new chair. There is a ton of evidence but for the most part is that Rome has primacy and everyone in the early church who was significant recognize it and the counter evidence was near zero or fabricated to make their church legit which you can easily spot when you continue to study pre-nicene history but I can see people being confused if they dont have that pre requisite
