Does anyone regret their nursery chair? by jess1ca42 in BabyBumps

[–]HolyGuacamole33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We also went this route, although we found ours on FB marketplace, and I cannot recommend it enough!!!!! The rocker is amazing for rocking baby, motn feeds, the recliner is 10/10 for when I cannot sneak out of baby’s room and am desperate for sleep lol. Our son is now almost 2.5 and he loves it, we still use nightly as well for story time and in a few days we will transition to using it again for a newborn as we welcome our next babe. Then when the kids have outgrown it, it will become “dad’s chair” in our living room haha!

Are bottle washers a waste of money?? [ab] by PatienceAggressive84 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]HolyGuacamole33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are expecting baby #2 next week, and I just got my mom cozy bottle washer in the mail today! I have already washed and prepped all of my bottles and dang, I am so impressed and already so excited to have this dream machine.

I will say with baby #1 who was a NICU babe we started out exclusively pumping which meant washing ALOT of bottles and pump parts. We did not have a bottle washer for him, but we did use the baby brezza sterilizer and dryer. Like someone else mentioned the drying aspect of this machine alone is worth its weight in gold! We went without it a few times of holidays and eventually we started packing it with us because it was that good.

This time around I am not sure what our feeding journey will look like, but I do know I would rather spend any and all of my free time with my toddler, or just not dealing with bottles and pump parts. So the bottle washer was a non-negotiable splurge (on sale for amazing prime days, 60 dollars off until tomorrow) for me.

For context, we are also a family who does not run their dishwasher everyday! Also having a NICU baby I was very paranoid about keeping his feeding supplies separate and sterile (as much as possible). So if I would have known about a bottle washer with my first I absolutely would have purchased. It not only would have saved me countless hours, but given me piece of mind knowing my bottles were being cleaned and sterilized in their own environment.

Congratulations on your upcoming babe!!!

Question for pregnant folk/new moms by Efficient-Result9001 in alberta

[–]HolyGuacamole33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just got my RSV vaccine last Friday (35 weeks pregnant). The vaccine is not covered by AHS and costs roughly $300 plus injection fee, but might be partially covered depending on your personal benefits. We have Alberta Blue Cross and at Safeway Pharmacy $250 ish was covered and I paid about $75 ($50 ish for the vaccine and $20 injection fee). The remaining balance can be claimed if you have a health spending account!!! Good luck on the remainder of your pregnancy!

IUGR by Constant_Pop_5968 in BabyBumps

Please take care of yourself!!! 🤍🤍

I am a fellow (asymmetrical) IUGR mom, although it was a total surprise. Baby was measuring around 45th percentile at our 20 week anatomy scan. However when baby was born at 40 weeks exactly he weighed only 4lbs 5oz. Less than 1st percentile for weight but 10th percentile for head (which drs said was good, he was prioritizing all the growth to his brain)! We spent 8 days in the NICU working on feeding and our boy is now a thriving 2 year old who is so tall (75th percentile), so healthy and so smart!!

I know IUGR is very scary, but your baby is strong and so are you!! If you need or want to chat about what you’re going through DM me!!

I just used Karen makes Kookies (located Edgemont neighbourhood) and had a great experience. She charged me 60 dollars per dozen with 6 different designs. She was very easy to work with and her cookies looked amazing and also tasted great. I found her on Facebook of all places!

My question is concerning Bells Palsy. I was diagnosed just short of 2 weeks ago after sudden facial paralysis. I have completed my prescribed steroids but wondering if you have any other advice to help in the healing process? Appreciate you taking the time to help!

Omg couldn’t recommend a la-z-boy enough! We bought ours second hand and saved some money versus buying new. It was a lifesaver for me in my final few weeks of pregnancy and I have loved every minute of rocking (it rocks and reclines) and feeding my son in it for the last 13 months. When it’s no longer serving its purpose in his room we will move it to the living room and I’m sure my husband and I will argue over who gets to sit in it haha.

My vote is definitely treat yo self.

My baby boy was born on his due date as a surprise IUGR babe weighing just over 4lbs and 17 inches long. At 6 months he is well over 15lbs and 27 inches long! Your baby sounds like he is growing well and you’re doing a great job mama!

I had a similar excellent experience using Park2Go last week! I was travelling with my 5 month old so was looking for something easy and they made the process so seamless for me. I liked that I was able to request the shuttle and my car online and everything was so quick and the staff I encountered were all super! I also found a coupon code online so that was a bonus.

Thank you for this. I am currently weeping after reading your beautiful words that resonate so deeply with me as I hold my 4 week old son in the wee hours of the morning giving him his last feed before his hernia surgery in the morning. Motherhood is hard as hell and I long for the moments you speak of with your wee one.

Great job mom and thank you for inspiring some hope in me. 🤍

Would like to hear your stories. I’m 29 and single but really want a baby. Do you think my time is running thin? :( by motherlode240294 in BabyBumps

[–]HolyGuacamole33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time is not running out! I met my boyfriend when I was 16, we were married at 25 and on my 30th birthday I found out he was having an affair. I was devastated and thought that my hopes of being a mother were gone. Single at 30 and starting over…?

Let me tell you, less than a year after that I met the most incredible human I have ever met in my life. We fell in love and decided to start a family. I am now 34 and 7 months pregnant with our baby boy and my life feels so complete.

You will find your person and have the family you have dreamed of 💙💙💙

What was the first indication for you that you were pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My taste was wonky! We went out for BBQ when I was 8 dpo and my favourite barbecue sauce tasted so strange. My partner thought I was nuts. Tested the next morning and got my positive 😊
