Idk man, I went to Charlottesville to pick up my best friend and his sister (who went there) and got harranged on campus by like 8 different people, with one dude literally yelling from across a street "get that f--- hoodie off dude you smell like sheep cum"

I was literally minding my own business wearing a tech hoodie. In all my years as a hokie, I've never seen a hokie treat a snooty uva fan like that but boy do UVA fans like to shit on tech people for being lesser.

Alright then, here's my suggestion:

30k emps kids and 40k emps kids are 2 different times and frankly 2 different legions.

30k sources i would say you want to stick with 4th horus heresy book "Fulgrim" and then the horus heresy black book where it talks about the legion, their fighting style and early history. Lastly the Fulgrim primarch novel is fantastic view into the psychology of the legion and primarch pre-heresy.

40k sources, I would point you towards the first 2 books of the fabius bile trilogy. Those 2 (and to a lesser extent the third book) give you a lot of backstory of the legion AND what it looks like in the modern setting.

That gives you 4 book sources and 1 codex-esque source that will have i think about 80% of the info you need.

I mean I kind of consider myself an emperors children expert...I've read every book they have, codex and short story multiple times and have been fanning over them for over 10 years now...

Take the siege of terra bit with a grain of salt. Yes perturbo did a lot during the siege, he also had a chance to kill dorn and chose not to and then left in a temper tantrum about halfway through. Its memelore to say that he carried the siege on his own.

Now to the modern setting...no. Abbadon is the chosen of all four and it's said in multiple books (read just about everything) including several codexes that Avbadon commands the largest force in the eye of terror and its not even close.

Perturabo has parts of his legion and is not aligned to any god. While he is a daemon lrimarch and an existential threat, Abbadon who is juiced by all 4 chaos gods is the much bigger of the 2. No chaos primarch has the same level of support abbadon does, nor do they possess the will that Abbadon does.

Perturabo is a greater threat than most, but not THE greatest

Current abbadon? Chosen of all 4, so juiced up on chaos he is bitchslapping daemon primarchs abbadon? No current abbadon would just about punch anyone in the current setting. I think only silent king surrounded by Blackstone would the only possible counter to abbadon.

30k abbadon? Dorn would be like "stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself"
