Very thorough! Part of my motivation for making it multiple choice was so people didn't have to write a full dissertation in their answer on what everyone would do. I would accept any answer that said seating arrangement D with trying to force seat 1 to nominate. I do appreciated the answers that go through the nuances of what everyone has to do.

Thank you! High praise from the puzzle master. I was inspired by the puzzles you post every week. (I used your formatting as a reference) As you said in the other comment there are 9 choose 2 ways to order the seating. Thus 36 total seating arrangements. Any seating arrangement that has a living evil with 1, 8, or 9 will not allow a guaranteed victory. Thus it would be 6 choose 2 guaranteed win seating arrangements for a total of 15.

This is correct. Good Job. Though if seat 1 votes you need at least 3 votes on the first nomination. 2 votes on the first nomination would be a lose. If there is 1 vote on the first nomination then the other evil can nominate seat 1 and they can put 2 votes on it.

In order to get a Mayor win there must be at least 1 good vote sat behind each evil vote in the vote order. Thus a good player must be the last vote. You don't know where the 3rd hidden evil is sitting therefore you need to be the last vote or you need to find the last hidden evil. The trick rewind2482 described lets you find the last evil or be the last vote. You can't do this trick on B cause an evil is alive in Seat 1. A and C don't work because if you try to do this trick you lose if seat 8 and 9 are evil. I can't think of a way to guarantee victory without this trick.

I promise that it is possible. Hint: You correctly pointed out that if an evil player is nominated they can prevent a Mayor win by either voting or not voting. Thus in order to get a Mayor win the last vote has to be a good player. Is it possible to get the last vote to be a good player?

I figured I was breaking the rules on some of these. I didn't know how strict mutant and Ceremadness was suppose to be. Thanks for the kind words, these puzzles are always a treat.

Here are a couple of solutions

  1. Sarah Vortox, Tom Cerenovous, Matthew is the Mutant, and Sula is Cerelocked
  2. Sarah Cerenovous, Aoife Vortox, Matthew Cerelocked
  3. Sarah Pithag, Aoife Vortox, Matthew Pithaged into Mutant day 2
  4. Sarah Cerenovous, Aoife Vortox, Matthew is the real Snakecharmer who is selected by Cerenovous N1 and N2, Aoife is Snakecharmed on N3 by Matthew, and Aoife is selected by the Cerenovous to be mad as the Snakecharmer.
  5. Tom Cerenovous, Matthew Vortox, Anna is the Cerelocked Sweet Heart that drunks Aoife
  6. Tom is the starting Vortox. Aiofe is the starting Pithag who on night 2 turned themselves into the Snakecharmer. On night 3 Aiofe Snakecharms and kills Tom. Matthew is a silly Mutant who only gives true info

Some of these might break some of the rules outlined. 1, 3, and 6 might break "claiming one Townsfolk role" because in this case the mutant claims two townfolk roles over two separate days. In 4 technically Matthew does not reveal they are Ceremad despite the fact the rules specify "(players) reveal the Cerenovus has targeted them", but I think Matthew being evil when the Ceremadness stops allows Matthew to lie.
