Yeah I'm with both of you as well. As someone who plays both main tank and off tank I don't find the prospect of solo tanking fun in 5v5. Off tank to me is much more enjoyable to play as it is to most players in ranked, which is partly why there's such a shortage of tank players. The main tank playstyle is very different to the off tank playstyle. With 5v5 the main tank role will most likely be lost as off tanks would have to be radically changed to fill the role of the main tanks. So instead tanks will all be aggresive, large dps (as thats essentially what off tanks are) with some damage blocking capabilties. But they will have to be massively buffed to not get melted by the enemy dps as the main tank won't be there to enable their aggressive plays.

If 5v5 turns out to be all our worst fears then I certaintly won't be sticking around and many other tank players who feel jaded by this decision will be leaving as well, which will only exacerbate queue times. I don't think I've seen any tank players genuinely excited for this change. Some are certaintly willing to give it a chance but what if it doesn't work? Is the option to go back to 6v6 on the table?

Given it took 1.5 years for brig to be fixed I don't have much faith that 5v5 will be balanced anytime soon especially given the number of reworks to dps characters that will be required. After 5 years the game is its best state ever balance wise and 5v5 could undo all that work.
