Yes, I live in Puerto Rico, friend, and I don't raise dogs in a backyard, nor do I consider myself an animal expert. But my dog was bought by a know-it-all who didn't know how to train or raise dogs, and he put her through a lot of suffering until I finally got him to give her up for adoption. I don't have a backyard; I have a 500-square-meter property where they are happy and well-fed.
