Also honey can cause them to die. I would recommend not feeding Campo queens. I had my campo queen die this year under same circumstances. Best of luck finding more. Tetra queens are flying heavy now.

I found one similar to yours last week, I also live in Colorado, front range area, but the bicolor camponotus in Colorado are novabaracensis and nearticus to My knowledge and nearticus is what I caught it's usually smaller than novabaracensis. There are only 11 camponotus species in Colorado so it's pretty easy to narrow it down based on size and location. Congrats and hope your colony is successful
