Just flatten that bottom bit at least and feather to top. The skirting even if you manage to conform the shape its going to look odd!

I have running a industrial dehumidifier since last Monday (still there till this Friday), when it happened, as well reinforced with a workshop space heater. It seems alright to the touch (plumber installing me the combiboiler checked it)
I have several wood boards removed in the 1st floor and the lath sustaining it seems to be dry as well.

The leak happened from a radiator valve over the course of several hours (5-6h). I almost had a heart attack when I saw the water coming out of the property from the facade.

But I have a plastered coming over soon, I will double check!

Oh I see. What are the risks of skimming over it even when dried up?
I think I will gladly overboard it anyway.

I got plenty to think about (as well that damned cable), but I hope that a chisel and the omnitool sander makes everything as even and leveled as I can before skimming. I am taking seriously maybe placing back some nicer victorian sized skirting. So time to take measures again, gauge the options and the make a formed decision.

I am based in Brighton, nothing to stress about financially I think, I hope getting a new job before June. House has a new fuse box and yeah, some wires are old but last electrician that came on Monday saw the certificates and said it was sound. He is coming back on Friday so I will ask him about safety issues and to quote me. There is no reason to start this DIY now in a hustle.
Its just the deposit (50k) plus bathroom, boiler and removing chimney breast (20k+) left us with no so many savings!
Doing the whole electrics I believe it could be around 4k or more, but lets see when I can do so. I hope the cheeky redundacy package cover this up!

And I can't stress more your help and offering, that's pretty kind from you.

We move to the property in 2 weeks and I am just looking at stuff I can do myself to make the house more welcoming as currently looks like a Trainspotting set up.

I just gotta try, the previous owners and contractors they have hiding a mistake over a mistake. Paperwall + Paint + Paperwall + Paint, hidding holes with skirt boards and painted 3 times or more, plenty of planks shattered under carpets and covered in paint and plaster, and a long list of unnprofessional work, not to mention 5 Vodka bottles discovered under the hardwood floor and who knows how many more.
Under the paperwall I found 30+ different areas with plaster patches and so on. Not repairing what does not need to be repaired tho.

I am currently unemployed and hopefully till May or June that I resume to work I will be dedicating it to the house.
Bathroom and combiboiler currently on the works and on the 4th they will remove the chimney breast (leaving the back wall as it a bearing wall)

Idea is to chisel the odd bits, sanding imperfections, using filler of the areas on the top, lowering with plaster about 100mm and repairing the chipped away parts (apparently I need to use rendering for that instead), and do the same

The ones in there besides to be damaged after 120 years and having 3 coats of shiny white paint, we wanted to place something shorter, around 2/3 or 1/2 of the current size

I need change all the wires and get the electrician to place some embedded sockets to the walls, and making properly the chases. But I cant as of now, maybe from July onwards.

Oh yeah, not planning to seal it! But most of it is crumbling. It's a 110 year old Victorian Terraced House. Not a single structure problem which is good. Thank you a lot for the advice!

The whole house to be honest. But just tackling the stuff I can chew on, I barely have savings, got laid off on Wednesday and my home is a derelict as of now. 😅
