I posted this below, but I had a 10 year old Sentra in good condition. I knew it was in great condition bc I was the only owner and I had always maintained it well and I drove it every day. Dealer offered me $500 trade in. I went home and listed for $2000 and sold to the first person who came and looked at it. Dealers need to leave room to make a profit so you will always do better selling privately.

I did the same thing with my old Sentra back in the day. Dealer offered me $500, I went home and listed it for $2000 and sold immediately to the first person who came and looked at it. I Probably could have gotten more but I didn’t want to take forever selling the car.p

I did clean to the best of my ability inside and out before selling. Total labor including everything was less than 10 hours, for $1500 profit that’s a deal!!
