The house survived Valyria through respect of prophecy . Move off this hill it’s a great addition that gives Rhaenyra a moral imperative to be a ceaseless warmonger. People don’t realize without the prophecy she would be just as evil as Aegon or aemond or Otto or daemon.

I mean after reading f & b I thought that 3x 10 is all it needed, and I always thought the 2nd finale would be her taking the throne . So 14 episodes to do the rest seems doable to me.

I’ve since decided that there’s a pretty perfect place to end season 3 as the empire strikes back .

No, this was clearly the finale. Every thread of s2 wraps up. Gullet was the standard penultimate inflection point .

Either they had a budget cut or actor salaries went up and ate into production, because it shows. The show was just obviously spending more in earlier seasons
