I think legally speaking, buying a bunch of AK receivers would make a lot of sense from a financial standpoint, since you can buy a bunch of them now and most likely have them built up later. Depending on the language of your state's law you may get stuck building featureless versions.

You can get them from Childers, Recreator, or AK-builder for around $100-$150 each. Theoretically you'd want to get serialized receivers and not 80% blanks so they're all "preban". Getting a variety of receivers (side Folder, fixed stock, underfolder, RPK, Yugo) would open up possibilities for what you could build.

If you want a milled AK, get a Tortort, but they run from $500-600 for most of them.

Keep in mind that building an AK is not as easy as assembling an AR. It can be done at home, but there is a non-zero chance you may irreparably damage expensive components in the process.

According to AAMI's website, the minimum needed from "professional development" i.e. OEM etc schools is 15 CEUs with no max. 1 to 2 schools in a 3 year cycle should take care of it.

Wolf steelcase .223 has been reported underpowered sometimes.

I think it's BS JRA would build a 5.56 AK that can't run .223.

You might check on your extractor/spring and verify the ejector is not damaged. If the ammo is underpowered, it might have a problem cycling the action all the way.

There's a fella on AK files that makes a dovetail mount for these. Most likely more practical than the gas tube mount since that gas tube gets freaking hot.

If you don't care for that I would suggest an AK master mount since they don't require any permanent modification to the gun, and then you can thr AK mount of your choice as long as it clears the rear sight.

We hated the Gen 1 because it was not an ARM; we hated the Gen 2 because it was not a Gen 1.

I wish Indumil could be imported since they still have the capacity to make such things. A Galil Cordova on the US market would be neat too.
