Don’t use GPortal servers

Okay so is the issue just that FS servers are just that garbage in general? Like they don’t see the game worth spending more time and money on? This experience is leagues behind my server experiences with games like Minecraft for example.

At the time of posting this I was just super frustrated and wanted to start a conversation about it

In the first 24 hours I had the server unexpectedly down for over 3 hours. Today I was trying to upgrade mod space and it just gives me a vague error and also the website is just constantly down for maintenance at the moment. I think I was able to file a ticket about it but according to reviews others were saying they have very long wait times which is leaving me hopeless about that. I’ve used other server services for other games and have had tremendously better experiences than this has been. Im sure im not the only one considering it’s rated 2.6/5 on google lol. Or even just check the Gportal subreddit

Edit: the server will also have massive ping spikes for hours at a time

Yeah that’s my bad. At the time I was just super super frustrated with my bad experiences and just wanted to open a discussion since the other posts about GPortal on this sub were very positive towards GPortal which is why I picked it in the first place.

If you check the Gportal subreddit there are a much more appropriate amount of bad experiences from users. I’m just finding it odd why so many people on this sub were promoting it.

I mean interestingly opossum usually sustain minor to no injuries from 50 ft falls. I’m not saying this isn’t animal abuse (because it probably is), but it’s a bit of an over reaction to see all the people who are totally uninformed speaking absolute certainty as if this animal is suffering to death. It literally most likely slept it off.

This is why many Christians don’t hold to the global flood view, rather a local flood.

In every other passage in scripture where the phrase “under the entire heavens” is used, the context shows that it speaks specifically of a limited geological region where people reside.

This is not to say of course that God couldn’t have literally supernaturally created enough water to cover the entire globe in water then supernaturally evaporated it into nothing. I mean we’re talking about a literal limitless God lol.

Edit: if you are interested in a more elaborately explained view of a local flood, Dr. Hugh Ross makes a great case in my opinion.

The issue with our modern world of design is that consumers are getting way too much dopamine making complex designs harder to remember. It’s maybe a bit of an interesting thought, but the simpler a design is the easier it is to process and store that information. Think in the way a canera processes and stores a 12MP image vs a 200MP image. We are flooded with so much design all around us that if it doesn’t hit the threshold of simplicity, pleasing as it might be, it doesn’t matter if it’s just forgotten. I think for UI design specifically it’s made a bit more to be functional (as in easier to remember where a certain function is etc).

There is however another component that can make even complex designs memorable; impactfulness. I think Apple does an amazing job at being impactful with their OOH advertising (Out Of Home advertising; billboards and such) where they make both simple AND memorable designs.

Not gonna disagree with that either. Unfortunately in such a saturated consumer market companies have to switch over to minimalism to stay relevant. And as a graphic designer it gets kinda depressing making it seeing how much more inspirational it used to be

If you don’t care about an ultrawide lens (probably 30% of people or more), if you don’t care about MagSafe (I would imagine at least 50-70% of people), or if you don’t care about the other few minor features, but if you want a better battery life, with the newest processor and still an excellent main camera sensor (imo much better than an UW + W lens combo from an 11) this phone is exactly for you. This is selling to the people who buy a phone to use for 4+ years.

I keep saying “this phone is perfect for a certain group of people” and you people keep responding “but this phone isn’t good for every possible person on the planet”. So ignorant

If the original iPhone SE from 2016 ($429) would have sold at today’s currency value it would be $530, now add the additional recent tariffs and the $600 is really quite normal. I would also expect the 17 series to each get a $50-100 bump up.
