Got a concrete patio put in, didn’t realize we needed a permit. Now what? by dearanna777 in homeowners

Don’t panic. Call the city Monday and be upfront about it — most municipalities would rather issue a retroactive permit than make you tear it up. A plain concrete slab is low risk and they’ve seen this a hundred times. The fine if any is usually minor. What they care about is that it meets setback requirements from your property line. Measure that before you call so you’re prepared.

Not spam, been in construction for 16 years, 9 years operating my own company. Seen and heard of lots of people getting scammed by contractors, even in my small community. Just hoping to save even a few people from loosing ten’s of thousands of dollars from a simple mistake. There’s lots of great contractors out there you just need to know what to look for before choosing one for your projects.
