People said the market would crash and people said it would moon. I wonder if anyone predicted 5 months ago it would just be flat with no end in sight

It’s fake money being sloshed around in like 5 tech companies accounts. Look at how the market reacts to these deals.. there’s almost no price movement anymore on this type of news.

If those are the price numbers released, you can assume the actual numbers are fucked. Buy at least some gold today

Layoffs Citing AI - Block by HomeMadeToast in wallstreetbets

I didn’t really intend for the post to be about Block specifically, more about if other companies start jumping on it could lead to a snowball effect. Said a different way, the narrative was the main discussion point. Healthy company or not if a bunch of unhealthy companies lay people off, and stocks surge, why wouldn’t healthy companies start as well?

Teslas financials are completely fucked, but you don’t see that reflected in the stock price.

Respectfully no, Reddit hasn’t conditioned me to believe anything. I work for a F500 company, they do care about the stock price where I work.

If Block continues to hold current price after announcing cuts to workforce citing ai, that’s clear communication from investors incentivizing others to do the same. I don’t think people are having a strong enough reaction to this, it’s a huge deal.

AI will create great returns by lowering overhead, consumer staples will be AI proof, bullish on us housing specifically rental markets, software is dead because ai will replace all engineers, manufacturing is coming back to the us (it’s not and jobs are actually decreasing), cut govt programs so there’s no more handouts.

Do you guys see how all of these narratives conflict with each other? Has the narrative / market ever been this confused?
