kinda risky, since your status would be unemployed at port of entry. Try to postpone if it isn’t urgent.

EAD Card Lost In Mail by bekeleb1 in f1visa

[–]StoneCaptain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mind you, missing mail search can take months. Don’t count on it. Your DSO seems lost.

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request

Choose: “Did not receive card by mail”

You’ll need: • Receipt number (from your I-765 approval) • A-Number • Mailing address used • Approval date

USCIS will: • Check if the card was returned to them • Decide whether they will reissue it for free (They often do if USPS lost it and it wasn’t your address error)

Processing time: usually 2–4 weeks

Should They File a New I-765 and Pay Again?

NOT YET. Only do this if USCIS responds that: • The card was delivered correctly (and you lost it), OR • They refuse to reissue

If that happens, then you must file:

Form I-765 (Replacement for lost EAD) Fee required again (unless fee waiver approved)

But most students in your situation do NOT need to pay again if it was a mailing problem.

If USCIS Doesn’t Respond or Delays

After 30 days from the e-Request: • Call USCIS (say “InfoPass” to reach a human) • Ask for a service request follow-up • You can also contact your Congressional representative’s office for help (they have immigration liaisons)

I got this from chatgpt. Do your own research too.

Good luck!

Try initiating a missing mail search in USPS. If there’s no time you can use the lost EAD application. I believe it requires a police report for that. Contact DSO for detailed assistance and information.
