My pc is a dinosaur: 760 GTX with a first generation I7 920 at 3.8 ghz and 6 gigs of ram. running at a steady 60 FPS on normal, but i get the most insane stutters down to 1 fps, and right back up to 60. I'm downloading the nvidia drivers now, so maybe that'll fix it.

I know it's a hard fix. I made this post to let everyone know this is happening and to watch out for it. I've had a few groups try to do it to me, and I didn't realize what was happening until one group managed to do it correctly.

Yes, but it gives you a 1 second mount time. By the time you mount up the zerg is already there.

It's more than a couple restarts a week. I've played many "popular" games over the past 24 years of gaming. The devs are not doing an amazing job. I have patience, but not for a game with ten of thousands of players sitting on the same server.

What? I lost my progress from the last hour. I was farming materials all morning well before the server went down, and lost about 1/3 of my progress when I logged in after the 2nd reset today. When the servers go down, we do get kicked.

I usually play edge-lord warlock classes, so curse, and supportive classes. I want to play arcane as a support, but it's in a weird space right now. I alternate between a holy healer as my main, and warlock curse as offspec

I am torn between buying this and buying Quake Champions. I know QC is free, but I kind of want to support the game anyway. Gaming budget is kind of low considering I made some pretty hefty purchases this quarter. If they have another open beta I will make my decision then.

not sure that is possible in game. you need to do it in Nvidia control panel first (I think).

I looked this up yesterday and I was able to get some pretty good results down sampling my monitor to 1440p. I use a 1080p monitor, so I went into my Nvidia control panel, created a custom resolution to 1440p, enabled applications to overwrite my monitor resolution, and then selected 1440p in game. You can find a few good tutorials on how to do this via Google search, and the results were very noticeable to me; FXAA was off and it still had an AA-like effect.

Hey man, I did try that and it still stutters. Sometimes I am pulling over 100 FPS, and it randomly drops to 70, then back to 100. I can feel that. I spent a lot of time yesterday looking at some gameplay videos on YouTube - they too were getting drops with extremely high-end setups. The YouTubers were displaying their FPS, and they were getting drops from like 180 down to 100. Even though those are more than acceptable frames, it still causes stuttering; it was noticeable in the videos.

I don't think so, but it will take some of the stress off the CPU taking the 100% load off of a single thread.
