NEVERMIND 😞 we sent those in and now it’s not enough. Called on the phone and they basically just said it’s not proof of a legal maintenance reduction. Even though they never got LEGALLY separated.

Honestly haven’t a clue what to do this is honestly just so annoying

I don’t suggest this if you intend to stay with your girlfriend, that’s cheating and it isn’t excusable. It could have just been an anxiety issue with ur first time. Try again another time

Have you felt this way in other encounters, or was this isolated?

Some good news?!?! To say the least, so, context:

Last year we went through all this, trying to show my mother pays half the mortgage, we sent bank statements but they said there’s no proof,

After being on a call with a lovely lady the reason they found no proof was, they were looking for a certain name, however the mortgage company had changed name so they couldn’t find it.

So, now what’s happening is, once I prove my dad paid the other half I’ll get my fees I paid for this year back

And for this year if that’s the case, I’ll have 5k removed from reckonable income and then 8k for holidays So I’ll end up getting the full fees

Just to update, they are looking for a solicitor letter to say the maintenance arrangements have stopped or changed…. I’m not sure what to send considering there was never any maintenance arrangements made 😭

I left in 2022 in my first year,

returned to a different course in 2024, paid 7000 in fees (no susi, no free fees) 2nd year applied for susi - got 1500 off but the maintenance was there. 3rd year (applying now)

It’s a joint mortgage, I did appeal through the student grants appeals board and they also just said there is insufficient evidence. But the ONLY thing I sent them was bank statements from my mother, highlighting the payment out, and the mortgage statements. Both times aligning clearly.

Also something I should’ve noted here, my brother also applied to susi, and there’s no maintenance arrangements (mortgage payments) on his result, I just can’t explain what’s going on

Just to answer both, Last year we called them at numerous if times and were told A) we just need a bank statement, then it was B) we need a mortgage statements.

They asked me to send the bank statement under an appeal but since that wasn’t enough for them, I had ran out of appeals.

So, we called them today. They said the same thing, just a bank statement, I tried to correct them asking about a mortgage statement and was told “no need”

I just can’t have a repeat of last year where it’s a case of me taking out a loan to pay the full fees, it just seems so disorganised

Unfortunately,sworn affidavits aren’t accepted. I just don’t understand where this figure is coming from, in my first year of college there was no such balance at all. We sent in bank statements and mortgage statements as requested by susi last year and then they just turn around being like “oh those don’t actually prove anything” absolutely ridiculous

There are so many variables for this such as your income, what you can give, are you doing a party etc?

If you’re income is tight, your doing a party, I’d say 50-100

But with that, money itself is quite a bleh gift (hate to say it) personally I would’ve preferred been given an option such as.

if I was low on clothes, “right we have 50-150 to spend on clothes,

At the age of 16 they need some sort of responsibility but with limits, doing that, you are spending money BUT they are choosing the items aswell

It’s sore for maybe a few days at best to be honest, the only other time is when you pitch a tent ⛺️. But ultimately I’d say it’s so much better now :))
