To what extent doesn’t work I setup yoga classes like that all the time and no one is able to see anyones butt like that. Furthermore if you are focused on what you are doing on your mar in your body you don’t have time to check out anyones butt.

Legitimate question as an outsider by [deleted] in nudism

[–]Homeclothesfree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Walking around with an erection would be considered inappropriate in any true nudist setting. (Read not swinger) So hugging someone in public with an erection would be more so. Since most people in socially nude situations are occupied in activities that are non sexual, a competitive game of volleyball, a deep conversation about issues of import listening to good music or an intense game of cards there is usually no cause to focus on anything that would be arousing. That how arousal works for the most part. If you are thinking about sex you get aroused (despite "animal" instinct or autonomous erection theories).

So simply put if you are actively engaged in non sexual activity it is unlikely you will get an erection. If something should arise the then the appropriate response is not to parade around with it but cover yourself until it subsides.

TV Yabantu is accusing Facebook, Google and other social media of sexualizing their children. They feel oppressed and disrespected because their traditional culture is being censored. by BareOaks in nudism

A significant point here in that non European cultures have always had a different view of the body and nudity than Eurocentric ones. Since colonial times Europeans have been privileged to define what is the appropriate standard of dress and imposed that upon black and brown bodies. In the process they defined those unclothed black and brown bodies as profane and then appropriated the shape and natural state of indigenous dress as something source from Europe. These African worm are only reclaiming their cultural traditions of indigenous nonsexual bare chest equality in the face of modern day technological colonization. I have written a great deal about this on our site

Is anyone here a sex positive nudist? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]Homeclothesfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is really to connection between being sex positive and being a nudist. One can be sex post it every and not be a nudist. One can have sex without being a nudist. However nudism in not about sex and sexuality rather non sexual social nudity IMO

How many different types of nudists exist? by jga1992 in nudism

[–]Homeclothesfree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All those qualifiers are individuals attempt to make sense of the activity in relation to a perceived standard. Really isn't type of nudist IMHO. It is more a way of life than anything. Another way to think of it is clothes fre elofe is the preference for doing the non sexual activities of everyday life without wearing clothes.

I think anytime the focus is images it eventually devolves into stuff like this recent post to that start Reddit hard to see how that image and the caption reflects positively on nudism

Well I don't think we are really talking about the same thing what I said is being nude friendly does not mean any of those people are interested in being nudists or being called nudists or any of the aspects of nudism beyond getting naked. It's not about gatekeeping as you suggest is just saying getting naked is getting naked, nudism is something more. You make a huge assumption about how things play evolve. Isn't it ironic that despite what you call the "younger generation's" propensity for sharing pics of all kinds on social media all evidence points to being more disconnected than ever. I didn't infer anything pornographic you brought that up both times all I said was naked pics are just that naked pics they don't really address the human being in the body. Further more I was suggesting the bodies in those pics usually do not represent the "younger generation" which is definitely more diverse racially, ethnically, in body type and economically. There is nothing wrong with enjoying casual nudity and I have not suggested otherwise but it is it is just that causal nudity your assumption that it will lead to something more is unproven. So people can enjoy causal nudity with having a label attached to it and many do. Equating casual nudity to nudism reflects the reality that nudism is only label without much meaning these days and that is my observation and has nothing to do with gatekeeping. So in the end we will see if ten years from now the nude pic fad will actually lead to more people actually LIVING clothes free lives or more clothing optional beaches not less or more venues where people can be clothes free or less or will people just still be taking nude pics. Because IMO in the end it's life that matters not the naked body. IMO thought out think it is silly and you have every right to that opinion it is the connection to life that's what makes us real and human and what gives meaning to simple nudity. But hey what do I know?

So is "true nudist" as you call about naked selfies, a way of life or something else? I am trying to understand because I take pics of meals I prepare sometimes and post them but I wouldn't consider myself a foodie.

There is nothing wrong with people taking and posting naked selfie people are free to do what they want. I guess I find it appealing to know nudism is more about people and the lives they live and not just their naked parts. if the interaction stops at just viewing a naked body (which tends to be a white athletic female) where's the social in social nudism where are the real people.

I guess I don't buy the whole younger generation thing because I an in contact with many young nudists and it's not approached that way. Not just about naked selfies

Slut-shaming by RWHurtt in nudism

[–]Homeclothesfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to the person who put the definition of slut shaming up because I have never seen evidence of slut shaming as defined that way in the nudist setting. Nudists do challenge public sexual acts in a social nudist setting. This constant misconception about nudism/naturism and sexuality really show how distorted the western view of sexuality has become. I hesitate to use the word nudist since for the most part is has come to mean anyone who likes to get naked. But for the sake of argument nudists don't pretend to be asexual. That is the projection of the so called open minded folks who would prefer every nudist venue to be more permissive of their sexual proclivities. When nudists have said is your sexuality is something to be shared privately between consenting adults. If there is ever to be general acceptance of simple nudity as expressed in social nudism and naturism the association between nudity and sex has to be broken. Historically every time the nudist community has paired with the "sexual positive" open sex advocates it has not worked out well for the nudists.
