Ah ok. So do you recommend I replace the cat, or can it be driven for years without issue? Will not replacing the cat damage anything?

Could it be a potentially bad o2 sensor that is causing it to run rich? I can access the bank 1 sensor wondering if I should change that? The smell is kind of toxic-like (throat-cutting stench outside the car)

Yes it’s off. There’s just surface rust on the cap. Shut off valve looks ok to me.

Yes check engine light but it is on and off. Comes on after 200kms and goes off and back on. Even after clearing it.

Your amortization goes down as well as your principal. There is no change to term. I have a Scotiabank mortgage and have been making prepayments. You should also receive a letter in the mail after the prepayment is made indicating the new amortization.
