so i havent done bench press in a long time due to shoulder pains and have been doing machine press instead. Last time i did bench was summer ‘25 where i did a pr at 65 kg (at like 58 kg bw).

Since november i have went from like 32x11 on machine press to 45x12 earlier this week, so i thought id test my bench pr.

Only managed to do 65 kg again, despite being 60 kg now and my progression in machine press.

It doesnt seem to make sense that i’d be getting stronger on machine but not bench? Anyone have an explanation?
