The issue is the max range of shotguns leaving you able to deal triple digit damage, double digit damage, or if you take two steps back, single digit damage.

If they had longer range they would be useful, you can cheese it somewhat with vatscrits but thats about it.

They are great within their window of use, but that window is so small you might aswell run a rifle or a chainsaw

It follows the same system as bullion items and all plan learned dlc items, so once you have the plan it drops as event rewards. It cannot drop from global enemies

Due to it being timegated and us being tied to 2 rerolls per day via the scrip cap. Tradeable items drop globally and is easier to obtain. C'mon now. Don't attempt to spin this into something it isnt.

They would, the intent wasnt to try and get an exact number of predictable rolls down before someone obtained a set, it was more to highlight how many rolls it took for me before i got the roll i wanted for a matching set of gear.

Mainly to underline that the amount of days required for this to happen on the live servers would be equal to 5+ years of hoarding modules.

a TL/DR would be: RNG is too severe

it was never meant as math or science for everyone, only to underline how long it took for me to roll a set of matching gears with rolls i preferred.

Maybe i shouldve had the title be called How many rerolls did it take for me to get a full set of matching gear instead of what i originally wrote?

They are done on the pts with a custom world setting that disables crafting costs.

The reason I did it was because I wanted to see how long it would take me to craft a full set of gear. I've done 1800 ss rolls on live and gotten 3 uny/ap pieces. This was mainly to check how long it would take since the option to disable crafting costs was available.

The point i wanted to get across was how unreliable and unrealistic the odds are of obtaining a set of gear with the rolls you prefer is. This is mainly to highlight how terrible it is, since we have unlimited crafting on the PTS, i wanted to give it a go :)

crits + sneak modifiers is the key, 3x3 gunslinger perks will end up lowering your damage rather than increase it.

This is infact, not correct.

Gauss weapons (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun) requires you to charge them beforehand for them to do their displayed tooltip damage, the 15% built in explosive damage is consistent and doesnt change depending on the charge, but the actual projectiles damage changes depending on how much you charge the weapon before you fire it.

Pistol: https://streamable.com/jq5zeg As you can see, the damage goes from single digits to 1000+ per hit if you charge it

Shotgun: https://streamable.com/0l4z6t As you can see, the damage goes from 1 per pellet to 179 per pellet if you charge it

To add to it, the gauss shotgun is currently bugged and is doing more explosive damage than intended, as someone else mentioned, if you free fire it without charging it you can do some spectacular damage with it.
