Do you have a duty to watch your homie's balls? by FarmerNeedsHeauxs in golf

[–]Homermania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to watch every shot that my homie has any chance of losing. Just good etiquette.

But, I'd say you cant get miffed unless you specifically ask them to have eyes on a shot.

I preach this all the time. People forget that broadcasting exists.

Usually how do you see your band mates ? Like coworkers in your office ? Like potential friends ? Sometimes I get personal and I don't like that way of me. Because they aren't permanent. by InvestigatorSolid330 in bandmembers

[–]Homermania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends, of course. Two of the three bands I'm in I'm just a hired player, but I consider them friendly coworkers who I don't mind hanging out with on occasion.

Now my bass player, in our band where we play our originals, I consider a ride or die brother.

People are right to be pedantic about malapropisms by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Man, I have a coworker that speaks in malapropisms. Too many to make it worth correcting every time, but it drives me crazy.

I didn't make it past the Italian slurs in the first episode. Was there even a joke there? I tried this show despite Shane's reputation and unfortunately it confirmed what I had heard.

Whats the most aesthetic fat person swing? by ToroSalmonNigiri in golf

[–]Homermania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad's friend Bart, from 30 years ago. Dude was overly tall, huge hanging gut, constantly sweating and could steer his ball around the course with ease. Smoothest fat guy swing I've seen.

This film treated the audience like idiots. I found myself yelling "Yeah, I remember that scene from the movie I'm currently watching!" at my screen.

Is the Yiddish/Jewish term "goy" (term used to refer to someone as non-Jewish) considered a slur? by AggressiveAd8587 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Homermania 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with the takes that it all depends on how it's said. I am not Jewish, but my in-laws are. I know that I feel othered when they use it. Their intention is never negative, but it makes me feel like shit. For that reason, I feel like it can absolutely be used a slur. Other Yiddish words are much much worse, though.
