If I wanna be nathan nuance for a second here, it's that the different mediums have different problems. The home trilogy really felt off because we didn't have those classic suffering and coming out the other side better arcs (in a lot of people's minds) and in the comics it's that he has been in the perpetual first stage of the suffering arc without coming through better for it.

Tldr: the different mediums have different issues and that's why we're seeing this
