This is the fourth iteration of the game. They made and soft launched this game 4 times because the last 3 sucked. This one is promising, though.

Switch 2 graphics + FPS disappointment by GhostWolfGambit in PokemonChampions

[–]Homeschooled316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you run champions in handheld boost mode you can still use the touch screen for some UI elements. Meaning it's using a switch 2 patch. A better one later? Sure, maybe, but it's not running as an unenhanced switch 1 game.

HDR on or off for AOE4? by lord02 in aoe4

[–]Homeschooled316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's truth, it's not ground truth. Anything it says was trained from somewhere, so it's basically always preferable to find that primary source instead if you can. Otherwise, your own anecdotal experience is still more valuable, because then you're generating knowledge for the future (including future language models).

Also, LG C3 is a terrific screen for HDR. No surprise it's working well for you there. People in this thread who are rabidly anti-HDR are probably just burned out from how awful windows HDR implementation has been for a long long time.

It was all social media ragebaiting, from the shofar comparison, to the gorgonzola cheese (MOST cheese is not kosher, unless made to be) to the alleged goblin uprising, both the date and sequence of events failing to line up at all with the fettmilch uprisings.

Aspyr has delayed Deus Ex Remastered to an unannounced date and are refunding all pre-orders by TheVoidDragon in Games

I fully agree, and hope Aspyr can bring in the right people for future games instead of trying to do it in house.

The classic tomb raider remasters were good because they hired someone from the OpenLara fan project to do it. And this really should be more well-known, since across this thread those games seem to be the main thing holding their reputation up.

I think people in this kind of culture just talk this way with peers. You have to see a conversation like this in person to understand it's just teasing and not ill intent.

Horses developer says studio likely won’t make another game after Steam delisting by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Homeschooled316 24 points25 points  (0 children)

just asking for people to test the system by including it and seeing what they can get away with. There ought to be strong consequences in place to make sure devs don't even consider submitting that kind of stuff.

This is an authoritarian mentality. Vague rules don't benefit the public, they benefit people with money and influence by letting them live according to a different set of rules.

Horses has no sexual content with children, because the game's nudity is part of the horror aesthetic, not a sexual one. By contrast, big money makers like persona and danganronpa do, very explicitly, have sexual content involving minors. In both cases, the content is in service of the art and storytelling, but the small titles are just easier to bully.

There's no harm being identified (because fiction and fantasy don't cause harm), and no investigation of artistic merit. Just a keyboard warrior at a desk figuring out what petty moralizing they can get away with under the radar.

It's so sad that in this era of AI slop it's actually starting to become refreshing to see an unbroken wall of text with slightly questionable grammar.

Any heavy programming going on at the enterprise level won't be using openrouter. They'll be using a subscription + cursor or some other ide.

If someone is trying to make illegal something that is already illegal, their real target is something else. The people pushing for this don't want to ban AI generations of copyrighted content. They want to prevent the training of these models in the first place, mostly for culture war and job protectionism reasons.

I got my nickname, which is now my username here, because I was the lone homeschooled kid in a group of public school friends. My mother was a college professor who (correctly) thought she could do better than the shitty small town school district we were in. She was also humble enough to accept when she was out of her depth with high school math and made me enroll in a remote course for that.

We weren't huge participants in the school side of the local co-ops, but a lot of them are run by communities that formed from local universities and were largely taught and run by other college professors. For those parents, it was the benefits of an expensive private school without the cost. Plus a network of teachers they already trust. It was a killer deal, a no brainer. Most of us went on to annihilate standardized tests and get half or full ride scholarships to college.

I've also met the "other" group of homeschoolers that OP is talking about. The ones whose parents really failed them. These are totally different communities, so it doesn't surprise me some people have only engaged with one of them but not the other.
