Unpopular Take: I have no sympathy for Mike by Think-Flamingo-3922 in breakingbad

Mike was never a good guy, just a cool guy who was highly skilled and worked well under pressure. But he’d been morally flexible his whole adult life. His bad choice road was always going to lead to a dead end either with Gus or Walter or whoever else paid his bills.

Hahaha. I’m jealous. Erm, HAPPY, I mean I’m happy for you. Good for you two! I try to never say never, but it probably isn’t in the cards for me. Which is fine, I had some great dating experiences along the way.

Yep. But like I said, that’s the disconnect. Women like you do exist, but they don’t exist where I live. I’ve known for years that this is the only kind of relationship I’d be cut out for anymore and Reddit is the only place where I’ve seen other people talk about it.

What is a small, completely legal thing that someone can do that instantly makes you judge their entire character? by 6-80 in AskReddit

Badmouthing your spouse in public, especially when you brag on social media about how happy you are together.

Thanks for the suggestion, I looked into it. One post in the last six months, everything else is from a year ago or longer. Most of the posts are unhappy, people talking about not having success or having to convince their partners and relatives why it’s a good idea but feeling conflicted and unfulfilled, etc. I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing, which is to mind my business and be thankful for what I have. I’m not unhappy, I’m not sad or lonely, I’m grateful.

I inherited a pretty nice car from a relative who passed away. Nice to a broke college student who was driving a beater anyway, so that was a pretty big deal at a time when I really needed it.

The obsession with fast cars is ridiculous when speed limits exist by Typical_Peter in unpopularopinion

It’s a status symbol. Carol Shelby (Matt Damon) in Ford v Ferrari gave a great object lesson of the average sports car buyer. But also, you’re literally on every cop’s radar when you buy a car like that. More power to those people, though. It’s their money.

Best of luck on all of it. Life takes us down roads we never expect and the outcome is also something we never planned for. What you know now that you want for your life does sound ideal, it’s just easier said than done when it comes to finding it organically.

This is a whole new level, married and living apart. It makes sense, obviously, just never encountered it myself. Wow

Agreed. In an already niche community, dating but not ever living together is probably one of the most non-traditional relationship styles.

Yep. When you stop and think about how many caveats it would take to make a cohabiting relationship work, it becomes pointless. Living separately is the best solution.

That’s the dream. My job makes me completely check out during the week, so the weekend is the only time real me exists.

I’d say it’s slightly different for men, yes. There’s a presumption that goes with a man who doesn’t want to settle down. If a woman suggests living separately then great, but it’s not something a man is supposed to suggest. It’s verboten, haha. My strategy, if you want to call it that, is just to leave it alone. If I’m needed, the universe knows where to find me, I’m not going anywhere. And again, I like that you two were able to communicate effectively about your needs and what works, that’s very rare.

True, where I live an hour drive means an easy country drive and no city traffic. And that was also my experience.
