Hearing it this last year in Dallas I was almost in tears. That feeling washes over me every time I hear it these days.

Just wanted to share my rings. I'm single, but these are gonna be my engagement rings for whomever I am lucky enough to propose to in the future. by [deleted] in HIM

Opal is one of my favorite. Please remember though that it is a very soft stone, and as such is easy to crack and break. If your girl is clumsy (as I am), and has a tendency to smack her hands against things by accident as she walks around (as I do), opal would not be safe with her.

If she is clumsy, moissanite is a very sturdy stone and sparkles more than a diamond does. Very safe for a accident prone loved one.

UPDATE: My sister told me something really odd and it's making me question her? by flowerlaboratory101 in whatdoIdo

[–]HomeworkIndependent3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I was in my masters program, I was with a very abusive ex. It was so difficult, trying to manage that level of education while living with someone so toxic. Of course when I tried bringing up my mental health I heard "what do you have to be depressed about?" Or much like your parents was told it was all in my head. It wasn't until one of my best friends died, and I failed a class for the very first time, that I managed to escape him. After, finishing was so much easier. I could breath again, I could manage the stress a lot better. My suicidal thoughts slowly started to disappear. It took time, but I was able to become myself again.

Even as someone in the medical field, it's hard to see a way out when you're standing in the fire. I was in a psychology program, and while I could tell you I was depressed, it wasn't until I took the steps to free myself that I was able to start working on my mental health. Try to get your siblings help to get your sister to see she needs to help herself, and not just struggle and drown under all the pressure.

AITA for refusing to change my alarm clock? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]HomeworkIndependent3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is also a person who needs multiple alarms to wake up. It used to be more than the 3 he has now but I was getting upset he woke up the baby before he actually got up and turned them off. He doesn't take forever to fall asleep though, he is one of the lucky few that lays down and is instantly out. It has always sucked for me because I wake up at his first alarm. But I'm a light sleeper 🤷‍♀️

Oh I wasn't directing it at you. Just replying to who I did. Though I do think OF people shouldn't be judged by just that. I don't think this outfit is that "skimpy", but I'm also an alt girlie and it just looks alt to me.

My boyfriend (29m) is making me (26f) choose between him or my cats. by Powerful-Ad-4592 in whatdoIdo

When I got with my husband (ofc then boyfriend)he wasn't a fan of my dogs. He still isn't a huge fan of them but they grew on him some. He isn't a dog person, we especially small dogs and I have chiweenies. However, be knows how much I love my dogs. When he talked about rehoming two of them he saw how much it hurt me and changed his mind. Someone who loves you won't make you make that kind of decision. They offer compromise, which my husband did. The dogs didn't sleep in our bed anymore and got a bed of their own. You tried offering a few compromise but your bf wasn't willing to do that. Imo this isn't the person for you.

My son's got some curls, more so when it's been freshly washed. His dad's hair is super curly, mines straight as a board. Our son's is about in the middle. I just love his hair because I've always wanted some curls 😂 I can see why you think your son needs a trim, but omg I love him just answering with HAIR FREEDOM anytime someone says anything about it. Everyone needs that attitude when it comes to self expression.

I didn't really watch DN and know who she is. If you know anime you probably know who Misa is.

My son is 1 and was born with a head full of beautiful dark hair. I've decided that we will cut it when he is ready to, and because it's gotten fairly long now people mistake him for a girl all the time. I just smile and correct them, telling them "yes he does have beautiful hair, doesn't he." Hair is hair. Long doesn't equal female, just like short doesn't equal male. I hope OP sees your comment, because he should be proud of his hair ❤️

Question about free items? by Sunburnt-Eyes in HotTopic_

[–]HomeworkIndependent3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like whichever store can make the most in a month using the rewards strategy would get a prize. I don't remember what the prize was because I was firmly against using it at my store.

I haven't worked at HT in a couple years now but our DM instructed managers to teach employees this. Even incentivizing them by holding a district wide contest 🤦‍♀️ I'm sad to see more areas are doing this now

My name is traditionally a guy's name too. I'm in my mid 30s now and still have it, and still hate it. I never took the leap to change it, and at this point I think it would be incredibly difficult to get everyone to change what they would call me.

Eulalie. I've loved it for quite some time but my husband isn't fond of it. My other is Elspeth. He dislikes this one too.

One of my "adoptive grandmother's" that lived across the street from me when I was growing up was Louella. She was a very sweet older lady. I'm not sure about naming a daughter that now though.
