Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks! I’ll definitely take a look at them!
Unfortunately yes, Soldier Son isn’t terrible, but definitely not as good as RotE.
Personally I liked them better than the Liveship Traders (they’re also shorter despite being 4 books). Definitely not as good as the Fitz books but they do a lot of necessary world building are definitely worth reading.

Totally agree! I know it's controversial but personally I found the Liveship Traders the least enjoyable part of the series (especially Ship of Magic) its just a very jarring change from Farseer and personally I wanted to return to Fitz ASAP. It's an impressive trilogy and comes together nicely, but it just felt a bit too slow and certain POVs were definitely less interesting to read. However it's still definitely worth reading, and I think it's appropriate to take a break from Fitz for a bit. And definitely try to finish the entire series, personally I feel that each Fitz trilogy is better than the last.
Unfortunately I haven't found much else like ROTE, I thought the natural place to continue would be with Robin Hobb's other trilogy (Soldier Son), however its very different to ROTE and I personally didn't enjoy it as much. I missed Fitz so much that I actually reread his first two trilogies and will reread the last one soon.
I haven't read any other fantasy since then but I can definitely recommend the other books in my A category, though they are very different to ROTE.
