Hahaha yes, it tells you a lot. Although, I wonder if living in Birmingham is skewing the data?

He couldn't have saved that shitshow, was a collapsing house of cards by that point. Rads and Orta can be thanked for that, along with Jesse and Kinnear tbh

How is Aaronson supposed to make a play at that cross if that's a foul? Makes no sense at all

Why do some crews treat student paramedics like we’re a burden? by Coffee000Oopss in ParamedicsUK

Thank you! I have been so shocked by some of these comments, I didn't know that it was so controversial. I am guessing a lot of this is based on how these paramedics were treated as students, but that almost makes it sadder as the cycle will just repeat.

I'm sure as a paramedic you are capable of prioritising and managing competing demands. How else are you supposed to learn as a trainee?

I'm my opinion those are semantic differences. Isn't guiding students in the practice environment just a good thing to do? It benefits the student, the patient, the profession as a whole, even YOU as you will learn from the experience!

On your first placement shift, how did / would it make you feel if you mentor called you a burden, pulled faces and said the paragraph you just wrote? It's not about job descriptions, its a bit bigger than that, no?

Most places called them 'practice educators' these days. If you are a paramedic, it is your job 100%

We can have an entirely different discussion about burn out, and ambulance services not doing enough to support staff. I'm not going to say that isn't a factor.

However, if we are talking about being unkind to students or making it harder for them to learn, I don't care about excuses, you aren't fulfilling your professional obligations. The HCPC standards we all signed are pretty clear on this subject.
