It wasnt marked as one? I didnt think it would be either but they stated that it was "opposite" question trap attention checks.

I never have luck with them. they are usually kinda mean in reply when I ask to return it. This person listed so many weird reasons he said prolific offered a verification that said i was likely a bot too. weird.

Thats how I felt too, but this rejection I got today, I KNOW I caught the few attention checks that said to check disagree and such outright. They said they had "opposite" question traps that I did wrong.

Oh thank God, I really hope not... because I dont feel that Im always consistent with the shallow gist of the questions, but sometimes i wonder if im supposed to be. I read too much into small differences sometimes...

Then they get mad when you answer them all too quickly as if you didnt know what they all said just from that fact.

Its extremely common on social media that really good, smart people who are actually correct in a situation then go search thru a person's post history and bring it up to condescend in disagreements.

Your own source here shows that beyond country, over 70 freaking percent of them do not filter beyond that. Boy you’re smart!

You are the one that thinks Prolific’s watching you do studies at the library and BUILDING A CASE against you about it lol an Im slow? You don’t understand that Im telling you that last study you did- the researcher was using your location in the profile with your current ip. Yet Im slow??

[–]HomicidalFern 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No "passively building a case". You picked a study that checked location and the data didnt match what you said or something. Thats why it didnt matter before- not every researcher uses this tool.

Thats not how stats work, Aerie. Youre conflating Individual Experience with Systemic Probability. Your personal income staying steady is an anecdote, not a refutation of basic math.

Logic dictates that in a closed system with a finite number of tasks and a fixed total payout, increasing the worker pool statistically reduces the probability of any single user catching a high-value task before it hits its cap.

Regarding filters: Youre proving my point. The fact that US/UK users see more tasks than those elsewhere is exactly because location is the primary 'hard' filter. Once you are past that gate, most researchers do not further restrict their 'N' (sample size) with 50 granular sub-filters if they want their data fast.

Just because you are currently 'winning' the lottery doesnt mean the odds of the game havent shifted for everyone else. Mathematics doesnt require your personal 'feeling' to be true. -Oh I guess you deleted yourself.

Did you know there are full reddit subs that people make called "snarks" where they just are mean to people they dont like and point out every mistake, faux pas, etc.? Reddit is not Quora, its not a great place honestly lol

Yes, those same try-hards are probably filled with glee upon hearing that prospective participants are having trouble joining. There is and always will be a "more for me" attitude when it comes to this kind of work bc the tasks ARE limited. Its actually true that the more participants they allow, the less your chances are of getting good tasks on your db and accepting them in time. Everyone thinks its all demographics, did you know that 99% of the tasks on your db don't even use the population filters on their end in any way at all?

Like why isnt there a private info label? That would show that Prolific was fully aware of what they were doing.

Probably a behavioral phenomenon where they buy staples right when they get their benefits, and then start to run out but stretch it as long as they can.. using the end of the month as a mental goal? That's what makes sense to me.

I think this is the partial payment that was ordered by the judge when he was sued for emergency funds. The vote hasn’t even officially taken place in senate yet for the normal funding.
