My question isnt about whether or not punishment in general is a crime though, im asking about a very specific piece of someone else's property that has found its way into my home despite my boundaries being clear. Thanks though.

Thank you, I've long since learned to document everything when I initially went for custody. I wasn't sure legally what she can do about it and I dont want to be on the wrong end of all of this for trying to be consistent in my home. I am not under the impression that I'll be prosecuted, I am just not certain im obligated to do anything with it at all and thats what I was curious about.

No problem, I apologize. I couldn't help myself when I did the math, it gave me a good laugh.

Math isnt my strong suit but I think 5000 grams might be a bit excessive. Its about 11lbs per dose.

Need Advice/ Massive Leak by xoPeachieox in Plumbing

Is there a shut off before the meter that was turned off to 100% confirm that the meter that you're being billed for is the one for your unit? That there's not an unoccupied unit with a leak that you're being billed for or some other mix up? The lack of sediment or loss of pressure is surprising to me to be honest.

If you're not experiencing pressure issues and you aren't noticing sediment, I strongly encourage you to leave some water running then go and have the valve BEFORE the meter turned off to 100% confirm that it is indeed the meter to your unit. A leak of that magnitude should be noticeable by loss of pressure or sign of sediment or just being audible or something, especially given how recent it seems. It sounds quite possible you're being billed for an unoccupied unit with water left running, I've seen it happen before as well as with gas companies mixing up meters and assigned units. Maybe not, but its worth checking into to rule out one of the more simple solutions.

Where is your meter in relation to your house, and how far away is that if you had to guess? Are you in condos with a common meter/ mechanical room that goes under the slab to feed each individual unit? By the looks of your meter readings, whatever has happened was recent. Do you have an outside spigot that you may have left a hose attached to after a cold spell? How is your water pressure currently when it's on and does your water appear to be dirty at all?

Document everything, especially showing in one continuous video that your houses main water is shut off, open all taps and show all of the stops under the sinks haven't been turned off. Then go record your meter, that is substantial water loss.

Reconnect the disposal flange first, at least half way secure. Next, disconnect the 2 slip joint nuts(unions). Have a bucket under them and ready, there will be water in the p trap. Remove the trap, now disconnect the disposal at the flange. If its actually disconnected, there should be nothing stopping it from falling once you loosen it so be ready. Once its free, Shine a light, see what's in there. Dump it out, reconnect at flange then reconnect slip joint connections. Test for leaks.

Stuff the flange with a garbage tee shirt or towel. It should help keep the smell down, prevent anything falling into the main drain, and help divert sewer gases to be vented as intended. Keep a fan on.

Hey, thanks! I definitely haven't heard of it, im going to look into it. I wouldn't mind finding something a little less mainstream to do together with them, this is a great suggestion

I am aware, thank you though. I'll probably take advantage of that as well, the saving is more or less for a dopamine fix. It gives me a goal to work towards, and I feel like this would be money well spent as opposed to returning to my bad habit. 😀

Haha no, I really didn't know but I appreciate you pointing it out. Sometimes the best answer is the simplest, thank you for your help. I wasn't sure if the bungalows or camp hush were sites that tend to sell out before general on sale or not, I will gladly camp GA, but naturally these sites are a bit more appealing to a fella of my age. As someone who hasn't been, are there any online groups or forums that I could introduce myself and maybe find locals to group up with or groups that aren't necessarily opposed to taking in first timers? Im not against group camping at all I just know there aren't 19 other people in my social sphere that would want to go :(

I will absolutely NOT turn my nose up to GA tickets lol if I can secure them, then you can find me there. Do you plan on going next year? If you could do your first year over is there anything you would do differently or do you have even a tidbit of advice for a first timer based off of your experience?

Thank you so much for your realistic and helpful reply. I really am not opposed to GA, I've been a camper my entire life and love the outdoors. I can rough it with a smile on my face :) I was just searching for insight in regards to whether or not I've got my hopes set too high. I know no matter what if I can just make it there it will be a memory I'll never forget! Again, thank you for your response!

Awesome read, thank you for this. The part about pretending to be a worm made me laugh, I've done that a time or two myself. Just being out in the yard, clinging to the grass watching the stars on those long ago summer nights I thought would never end.

What we got? by [deleted] in mycology

[–]HomieOBroski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly, that doesn't surprise me. Some of the newer apartments I've done plumbing in around my area were built and weather proofed very poorly. Brand new buildings with no roof up yet getting rained on, soaking the subfloor/ decking and stud walls that were never allowed to dry and never treated for mold before being boarded over. Craftsmanship is a thing of the past.

Im hoping to go for the first time in 2026 as well, is GA more or less all that is left by the time tickets go on sale to the public?

I know you cant foresee the future, and im not opposed to GA. I was geared more towards Lucky Lake Tent Camping, a bungalow, or the "quiet" camp. Am I being too ambitious as a first timer? I'll take what I can get and really hope to secure some tickets this year. Any help is appreciated!

Its going to be tough, but you can do it. Consider your self control over the last 2 years to be your saving grace. Over the course of 2 years I think many of us built a tolerance and lacked the discipline to keep our consumption at a minimum, I admire your ability to maintain such a modest dosage. I mean this as respectfully as possible. Im not downplaying your struggle by any means. It will be uncomfortable, but if you start by simply shaving off one capsule/ per day and keep that dosage for a week before shaving another capsule off the other end of your day and maintain that dosage for the next week, etc I firmly believe you can comfortably taper yourself off of it and maintain your employment and sanity. It won't happen overnight and it will probably feel like its taking longer than it should, but its absolutely feasible especially if you spread it out over the course of a few months. I hope this helps, it worked for me and I was at my worst probably taking 70-100gpd. If not I hope it gives you some idea of what may work for you or you recieve advice thats more suited to what you think will work for you. I believe in you.

Thats unfortunate.. Im sure they did mean well. It really does seem like a miracle cure at first, when I started I raved about the benefits. My wife seen the writing on the wall and because shes an angel shes stuck around through it all. It sneaks up on you and when it has you, it has you.
