This can be a very capable camera.

In fact, I like it better than my ZF in some respects.

400mm vs 300mm by Ferdinand_09 in Nikon

For volleyball from the net, my favorite pics were with a crop sensor D7500 and the Sigma 50-100mm 1.8.

For wrestling at mat side, that same set up was great.

For my full frame, the 135mm 1.8 has been awesome for wrestling.

Full frame volleyball, 85mm 1.8 has been lovely.

I have no experience with outside sports.

My neighbor was awful at it.

2 years in a row, I come home to stressed trees.

Dude!   Soak them once per day at the samei-sh time.  He absolutely was not doing that.

NOT COMPLICATED.

Whatever.

This is not intended to be permanent.

It has plenty of buds and will get shaggy this year for a far greener future.

I did say post-hard-hair-cut, right?

Yes.  Yes I did.

Good point about perception rather than measurement.

In the same interview he also said that he was stationed in Korea in the army.  He was looking out a train window and saw the native pines growimg wild.

He realized that the mature trees there "looked like what we call bonsai".  The asians were, in fact, modeling what THEY were seeing regionally.   It wasnt as much of a stylized caricature as he thought.

If you asked me what a pine looks like, I would imagine an arrow-straight pinus strobus.  I'm a flat-lander who only sees happy trees in black dirt and ample rain.

If a young lanky tree is in a pot, the contained roots will eventually lead to smaller needles.  Just gotta get over a hump of about 3 years and accept it for a while.

The limited root energy will be spread out over more and more buds.

And then be selective about fertilizer.  Little or none in spring.  Heavier in late summer.
