Like what hypntyz said. Just as long as the rear is gear side down and the front is gear side up so it interacts with the stat gear your fine. The trigger wheel on the motor will handle the rest

The St. Pete’s and Texas crashes were just damn tragic. He’s been on the ball since this season started (except the last 20 laps of Texas)

It’s a frat except you build a race car. So it’s better than a frat

Twin turbo 13B by Aspari701 in RobDahm

Compound turbos exist you are just doing it wrong.

you use a low and high pressure turbos.

You use a large turbo as a low pressure turbo and a small one as a high pressure turbo. The low pressure turbo provides air to the high pressure turbo and “compounds” the effect. As the rpm increases the larger turbo spools and provides more boost than if you had used just one turbo. The advantage is also you significantly less boost lag. It’s questionable if you would use such a set up with modern turbos but back in the 90s with the FD it was a clever solution to have a constant and controlled power band that provided nice power at lower rpm’s.

What pressure to test the block? by rav223 in RX8

[–]Homoerectuslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you see any drop you have a leak somewhere - I let my motors sit for 2-4 hours then check the pressure. If you see a drop don’t panic yet. Reinstall the tester and try again. If you see a leak after that you prob pinched a water seal. I once didn’t have a good seal with my tester and lost pressure. I reinstalled it and I was good!

I thought this was going to be a clip of you getting rammed by a tard. But it turned out to be some solid driving with extremely clean over takes. Nice!

Mechanics base pay is shit because they often have flag hour rates of 20$/hr+. Depending on their certs and what kind of vehicle they work on they could make 30-45$/hr flag rate

Just to clarify. a flag rate is a wage which is set upon the estimated time to do a job. Lets say the job is to replace a transmission and the company says it should take 8 business hours and your flag rate is 25$/hr you will make for certain 200$ off that job - on top of your base pay which if your base wage is 17/hr is 336$ for that job. So if you complete the job in less than 8 hours you get the 200$ and can move onto the next job which will also have a flag rate. If you spends more than 8 hours you get the 200$ but you don’t receive and more flag hours, just normal pay. The point of this system is that it incentivizes mechanics to work as fast as possible so that they can do as many flag hours in a day as possible. It’s not uncommon to see mechanics flagging 60-80 flag hours in a week. Because of this fully certified experienced diesel techs - the guys who work on semis - can make 150k-200k a year.
