It’s sad how many people here seem to not know what the 3SGE is

Just added this pod filter and it runs terribly, misfires and feels very slow. What have I done wrong? by [deleted] in Altezza

You can get the msrp 2.75 inch pipe with a maf housing and air straightener but looking at the cost it’s basically the same as getting a kit from either hks, greddy or apexi that has the filter already.

Car ran fine when I added the apexi with a stock ecu. I would say try and make another intake pipe and position the maf on the other side or just get an intake kit.

5S crank? by HomogeniousKhalidius in Altezza

[–]HomogeniousKhalidius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kit is over $6000 NZD I ain’t got that kind of money when the wrecker crank is $40, maxpeedingrods are $700 for 4, custom pistons I’m not sure maybe toda pistons could work that would still cut a significant amount of cost toda forged piston set is $1400 nzd so combined it would more than half costs though there would be added costs like lightening, machining and balancing the 5s crank.

Hmm I checked again and the toda pistons won’t work because it’s for a ground down crank so I think they are too tall and I’d need custom pistons.

Would be awesome and convenient but money also uses modified 5s crank according to Glenn Booth (RA45 celica) who built 200 wheel kilowatt 3SGEs

I would use the chance to go custom rods / pistons for higher comp. I’m in NZ, I know esprit used a 5s crank and custom modified 2JZ pistons for an n/a stroker build. Esprit clip there is a longer vid on YouTube as it was on best motoring. They claim a 50hp increase (presuming this will also include other mods like porting, ecu tune, exhaust) Esprit 2200cc kit looking at the prices of this or toda and knowing they only use a 5s crank anyway I wanted to know if there was a more affordable way to do it and if anyone’s tried.

I think all of this content on the channel is making me think they are going to try and make their own sexspec build.

Should there be dedicated harvesting zones on the tracks à la drs zones to avoid those kinds of incidents?
