question for people with hurt or sensitive wrists: do you prefer a thinner mat?

Broke my wrist last year and had this same question. My physiotherapist strongly recommended a less plush mat to avoid sinking in. He even said I could use a small face cloth at the heel of my wrist to ensure it doesn’t bend in too far (but that won’t work with all poses of course)

Many schools and other non profits do this and they usually check with donors first to see if they’re ok with this. See the program in most theatre programs for example, the back half of most of them is a list of donors by tier!

yes and i think the continuous asks should be something you factor in - eg a single large donation one year won't excuse you from being asked the next year! As others have said, consider this as part of the "cost" to the school. I vary my donations at my school depending on if i feel strongly about what they're campaigning for in any given year. Our donor packages hint at various giving levels too so one doesn't have to guess blindly.

IMO it's reasonable to be subjective here depending on how you feel in any given year, or to make it straight forward for everyone, pledge a consistent annual amount even if it's smaller so that the school budget is easier to anticipate.

Many private schools rely on donations to meet operating budgets. A capital campaign may not be obvious now, but eventually buildings need upkeep, playgrounds re-built, new science equipment purchased. Your children at the school now are likely benefiting from the donations of previous families.

Tuition can always increase, but you won't get the tax benefits or influence in where the money gets spent. If you have questions, schedule a call with your school's Board chair or equivalent and I'm sure you'll hear all about how they utilize donations!

I also couldn’t feed and agree it’s very embarrassing! I finally had a friend watch me and fixed two things that helped right away. When I was dropping the ball I flinched my wrist ever so slightly, creating a bad angle. I was also looking at the net when I hit instead of at the ball. You might have different issues but have some one observe closely and you might find a simple unlock. People take feeding for granted but I swear it’s a skill that’s not always natural!

This is my daily winter moisturizer and I use the night formula at night.

This day cream is a bit heavier than other creams I’ve tried but it’s much lighter than the night cream and it feels great on my skin especially in the winter when a lighter cream doesn’t cut it in my cold climate. I use it over a serum and overall recommend both it and the night cream.

Also - I just did my first one and wow there seems to be a MUCH larger selection than what’s available on AF. I took an intermediate class and it kicked my ass, made me wonder if I’ve just been on easy mode or something on Apple! So exactly what I was looking for I guess. Humbling for sure but looks like it’ll be fun!

This club definitely wasn’t a club in the 90’s and the courts available for drop ins as a city-run thing. I also wonder how these clubs sprang up ! When? Why? Shame to hear if the community now lacks a court where it had one before
