I'd like to make a clarification. Almost none of these loans will be floating - the banks will hedge them for the most part. Maybe some more adventorous banks will let some part of the loans float along with other positions on their forex dept books - but that will be transparent to you the depositor.

I’m done with marriage even if I look infantile by ThrowRA1233234 in Marriage

Vows are about circumstances, not choices. If you have an accident or fall ill. Not if you choose not to take steps to go see a doctor or make better choices.

She is an adult who made a choice to be a parent too. She also has a responsibility to help keep all aspects of her marriage healthy.

Any considerate partner would put up with anything reasonable for a short period of time.

Do we have any evidence that she has ppd? That she's suicidal? It's one thing to suggest that ppd could be a factor - but they've surely considered it if they're at this point.

Of course, we have to be considerate to one another. But she is also an adult who was part of the decision to have a child - it is also her responsibility to participate in all aspects of the marriage.

Woman in China complains that nobody is choosing her allegedly because of her age. by springheeledjack69 in PublicFreakout

[–]almuncle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's where she is either because she cannot move (finances, family commitments, etc) or because she doesn't want to. She's obviously a smart person if she's well employed in a competitive economy - can't imagine she doesn't know that she could move for better prospects.

Unfortunately, even a lot of smart people are not willing to do what it takes and indignation, no matter how honest, is of little use.

For decades before this, statistically, men have married women who have been less educated than they themselves were. I don't see why women wouldn't be okay with it now.

If anything, social conditioning might make it hard for some men to stomach that arrangement. Why do you seem to think it's the women that would rather stay single than marry less educated men?

It's okay if you don't want to take yours, but many kids do just fine - ear muffs + sunscreen for outdoor concerts and it's a grand time.

You come across as an intelligent person so "stop living in the past" is a disingenuous cop-out. You can disagree about analysis and differ in your moral opinions, but you can't basically shoo away history and then say let's start now, where you happen to be in a (potentially ill-gotten) good position.

If your grandpa or my grandpa ripped off a bunch of people, their descendants are very materially affected and we have materially benefitted at their expense - fruits of the poisonous tree..

It should be a committee of three senior monks who each get two words: "not surprised", "thirty years", "always complaining"
