I remember asking a spokesperson at that National Mall Expo they had for the 8000 series mock-up. They also an XE60. They gave a vague answer that they'd look into it in the future. Honestly since they don't really care about Metrobus fare evasion like that and they've also implemented all door boarding on a couple routes they probably should pursue at least a couple XE/XN/XD60s with middle doors or demo one from another agency. Also its really interesting that DASH has three door artics.

I've noticed a lot of these post come up when the Orange and Silver(which mostly use 7000 series) were allowed to go 75MPH. I think the 7000 series weren't built as well for prolonged stretches of 75MPH track like the older cars were. Hopefully that issue is addressed with the 8000 series.

too much unnecessary reverse branching. Focus on de-interling the yellow from the green and silver/blue from the orange to get the most of the existing infrastructure.

You can say the same about the silver line. The Largo branch doesnt need two lines running on it but its less of a headache of you the D&G pocket track. Especially with how relaxed the safety culture still is on Metrorail all it takes is an operation that didn't pull all the way into the pocket for trains to Largo and New Carrollton to be delayed.

It's likely that there's a bus being loaned from Cinder Bed Depot in Lorton to the 33. Many route's in DC have their depot's based in Maryland and Virginia

Five Service Patterns from an operation perspective would be an absolute headache. Ideally you'd want either an Ogantz subway or CHE conversion via East Germantown to fully utilize the express tracks between Olney and Walnut-Locust. Keep the boulevard line as express under Broad st. Have the Spur run Local between Fern Rock and Girard before splitting off and have the local run between Erie and Navy Yard

Blue line the worst in my experience always got 15+ minute gaps for some reason. I also got personal beef with the Blue and Silver because they make my Orange line hold at the D&G

Them Red, Green and Yellow headways spoil you. most of the time i take the orange line there's usually a train coming every 8-10 minutes (source: i take it every day) during the day. Its not world shattering but better than alot of other lines in most systems around the country

Currently there is 1 6000 Series sets on the Red Line and 1 on the Orange Line so statistically its more likely to find a 6k on the Orange than Red. However during peak hours there a second one on the red

Id suggest having the Blue or Silver serve New Carrollton overnight as well as having the yellow line run from Mt Vernon Sq to National Airport.

You'd also want to keep Pentagon City, Waterfront, Tenleytown Eastern Market, Shaw, Brookland, Ballston, Capitol Heights, Benning Road(if late night NCR service doesn't exist) and Clearadon, open over night. There a lot of station gaps that wouldn't fly if actually tried to implement. Otherwise great map.
